Pretty Blue China

I have always had a penchant for blue and white china.
Much of my collection has been handed down to me
by my mother.
Not these pieces though.

I bought this pretty set of blue Mason plates
at an antique shop in Auckland
for my daughter's birthday!

I very carefully wrapped them in yards of bubble wrap

and carried them with me in my hand luggage
on one of my trips to France.

You're probably wondering why didn't I look for
a set of lovely french china plates in France.
Well I fell in love with these and just had to have them!

Thank you all for your visits

Take care and

  7. Is your blue and white pottery Cornish- Ware ? I used to have a few pieces but think they must have got left behind when we moved to France. The pretty porcelain plates are so pretty
I thought you were going to say they were broken when you opened them. I'm sure your daughter loves them.

  14. Dearest Shane,
Oh, we have transported tons of china and other breakables across the ocean. In the hand luggage it is very easy. Only nowadays with the weight restrictions that is worse.
It is a very lovely Mason and I don't blame you.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  19. I love blue and white dishes but seldom buy them for myself as they just don't "go"in my strawberry-themed kitchen dining area. So pretty though. Love these, especially the milk and sugar jugs in the top photo.
