I have always had a penchant for blue and white china.
Much of my collection has been handed down to me
by my mother.
Not these pieces though.

I bought this pretty set of blue Mason plates
at an antique shop in Auckland
for my daughter's birthday!
I very carefully wrapped them in yards of bubble wrap
and carried them with me in my hand luggage
on one of my trips to France.
You're probably wondering why didn't I look for
a set of lovely french china plates in France.
Well I fell in love with these and just had to have them!

ReplyDeleteI thought you were going to say they were broken when you opened them. I'm sure your daughter loves them.
Oh how I love pretty blue dishes too. We have kitchen that has white cabinets so we added slate blue color to the walls. It makes me feel happy. Enjoy your week sweet friend. Hugs, Diane

ReplyDeleteDearest Shane,
ReplyDeleteOh, we have transported tons of china and other breakables across the ocean. In the hand luggage it is very easy. Only nowadays with the weight restrictions that is worse.
It is a very lovely Mason and I don't blame you.
Hugs,
Mariette
