One of my favourite places to walk in my area is
Cornwall Park.
It is a working farm with a herd of
Swiss Simmental cows.
They are in general a docile breed
apart from the mothers who are
very protective of their new born calves.
Many people walk or run in the park
with their dogs, which should be to be on a leash.
The cows are not happy when unleashed dogs
approach them in their paddocks and are
quick to display their feelings.....
The dogs learn very quickly to stay
on the right side of the fence!
I'm joining Tex for Good Fences
and
Eileen for Saturdays Critters
Thank you both for hosting.
I've read some lovely comments from you
over the last couple of days on my tribute post
Thank you my dear friends.
Take care and
be kind to one another
à bientôt
Shane
What pretty cows - nothing nicer than a green field of good-looking cows. So sad the dairy farms have mostly disappeared in south-east Queensland. xx
ReplyDeleteDear Shane:
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and farm charm!
Hello Shane, I was revisiting my post about Sally and I appreciate your kind comment. She was very well loved and will be missed. We can be glad that she is in heaven and without pain anymore. You post about her is so sweet. I am hosting Blue Monday in her honor starting Monday. I have never done this but I promised her I would carry on in her honor.
ReplyDeleteThis post is delightful and so well written. I love cows as I was raised in my youth on a dairy farm. We has a pet cow named Blondie. She followed us everywhere and would lay down so we could climb all over her. A great memory brought on by your post.
Have a wonderful week.
Jeanne

What a nice looking group of cattle and they have good fences to keep them in as well. Loved the look on the one's face in that last shot.
