A Sunny day in Noyers-sur-Surein, France

It was a beautiful mid summer's day
when we visited the charming village of
Noyers-sur-Serein.

This village is a commune of artisans
living out their dream in this beautiful
medieval village in the Chablis
wine growing region of France.

We wandered around the narrow lanes
most barely wide enough for a small car.
There were charming stone houses with
gardens spilling out on to the walkways.
Peeps of pretty gardens,
and self sown flowers lining the little lanes.

It is the sort of village one could imagine living in
and being part of their artistic way of life.
Things seem to move at a slow pace
and no one is in a hurry.

We stopped at a cafe and enjoyed a cool drink
of Orangina, so refreshing on a hot day.

Later we spread a picnic rug beside the river
and ate a delicious lunch
of ham rolls made by my granddaughters
followed by a piece of fruit,
what more could one want?

A perfect day spent with my family
in the middle of France!
A day when beautiful memories are made.

I'm joining
Karen for Sunlit Sunday
Judith for Mosaic Monday
Bernideen for BTTCG
and
Stephanie for Roses of Inspiration.

Thank you for visiting and reading my posts
take care and
be kind to one another

à bientôt

  1. I'd choose those narrow lanes in small villages to visit any day, I'm not a city girl, although I don't mind passing through them to see the beautiful architecture. Love seeing the photos from your visit to France

  27. Oh my such a beautiful tour here of a village commune where I am most certain has all the inspiration any artisan would feed off of.
I have to say being a designer / artist it's been a long dream to live in a community full of artist where inspiration is for the taking.
I need to make it over here more, mich more often, I am leaving breathlessly inspired, perhaps enough so to add to my French want-a-be cottage /villa.

Will return soon off to visit.

  31. . . . . and given half a chance Shane, I'd be walking there right along side you! We share the love of French villages don't we. With both having families living in one we have been fortunate to visit - I hope to get back again and I'm certain you will be heading that way again, perhaps come Summer - in the northern hemisphere!

Lovely pix - thanks for sharing.
