This year is moving far too fast for me!
I've reached that stage in life
where I'm quite happy for time to stand still at times
so I can capture and fully enjoy the
very special moments
that make up the rhythm of life.
I want to commit these moments to memory forever
so in years to come I can look back and recall
I remember when.....

It was a month of of seasonal happenings.
We had Easter - our most important feast
in the Church's year
celebrating the Resurrection of
Christ our Saviour.
Then on 25th April - Anzac Day
commemorating the soldiers of the
Australian and New Zealand Army Corps
who fought in WW1 and WW2
side by side
in far away lands
for God, King and Country.
I'm linking to Cheryl of Thinking About Home
for her monthly meme
Wishing you all a very happy month of May.
Take care and
be kind to one another
Merci à bientôt

We bought this old classic launch last year
and my husband 'The Yachtie' is restoring it...
a labour of love!
The interior has been ripped out and he is
more or less starting from scratch!
We know the hull has 'good bones'
so she was worth saving.
She will be re-launched pre Christmas 2014
in time for Summer cruising!
Nice pictures! I am intrigued by the bunny on your table. Such a cute little thing. Looks as your April was very diverse and pleasant... just the way I like it!
ReplyDeleteI like the quote from John in the first collage and think this meme is an excellent way to keep a photo journal of memories from each month. Now, if I can just remember to participate myself.
ReplyDeleteLove, love your photos, Shane! You are an artist with your lens!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful month in your corner. I love what you say about taking time to fully enjoy the moments...I, too, am at that age. :)
No apologies for joining in late...I am happy to have you come over to "gather"!
What beautiful gathered moments and memories to treasure dear Shane. I adore your table setting with the Eiffel Tower! How nice to have a boat to fix up and make your own to enjoy too. Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi sweet Shane,
ReplyDeleteyour photos are all so lovely and my the boat is amazing! April seems to have been a lovely time for you and of I lived closer, I would love to join you for a little sailing when it is done! That would be nice.
Many hugs,

Wonderful collection of beautiful photos, especially the one of Anzac Day. Gathering the moments is a wonderful way to stop and reflect on all that has happened when time seems to be flying by.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteIt has been an eventful month for you. It's always good to look back and you've
ReplyDeletea wonderful number of beautiful/special moments shown in your collages. I love the colour and name of your yarn and I'm wondering what the green things are in the bowl next to your cat ornament? I hope and pray that the month of May will be full of blessings for you and your loved ones.
Just in time for the summer season. That should be keeping your hubby well occupied. =D
ReplyDeleteThese gatherings are the perfect way to put a ribbon on a month.
Pretty mosaics - thanks for sharing. Yes time is going by way to fast. I just read someone else post about the exact same thing. I have found that the older I get, the faster it goes by. :/
ReplyDeleteNice boat !!
What a lovely post, Shane, full of beautiful photographs.
ReplyDeleteDear Shane,

I would say you have had many glorious moments -- and the photos to help remember them by -- all lovely!
ReplyDeleteDearest Shane,
ReplyDeleteLovely moments indeed throughout April. Easter is a very important and also lovely time of the year as we have spring evolving. Resurrection in many forms.
Pieter's birthday on April 23 for being an American Citizen, he celebrated his 21st this year and than on April 29 his real birthday. Like you, I wish I could hold on to certain days and let them linger a bit longer... But now, that is impossible and look; two days of May have passed already.
Hugs to you and happy weekend!
Mariette
The verse from John's gospel that you featured is one of my favourites. What a lovely collection of April memories you gathered here.
ReplyDeleteNice to see a photo of your boat. My husband took a look and admired the lines of it!
The feijoas remind me of of my first home in New Zealand. We had a huge feijoa at the bottom of our garden that was always dripping with fruit. Our freezer was always full of them and one of the first desserts I ever made for my husband in our 'new' home was feijoa crumble. Also at that same home our neighbour had a huge boat in his backyard which he was restoring. It towered over the fence and blocked out our sunlight! It took him so long to restore we nicknamed him Noah and then one year it rained every day for 40 days - I am not kidding, it was the Waikato after all! We half expected him to launch it then but no! Sounds like your lovely launch will be ready in record time!
ReplyDeleteHow I wish time could stand still. It seems to speed up the older I get! I don't have much time to blog these days but still enjoy keeping up with the blogs I follow and as yours is the only Kiwi blog I follow I do drop by whenever I am able! I have a busy week ahead.. I am preparing for a bridal fair next weekend and still working out every last detail for my table.. china, flowers, linen etc.
Lovely photos - a good way to store memories. Anzac Day is my daughter's birthday, it was the first thing my Australian aunt remarked on when J was born:)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like your hubby has a fun project he is working on and you will have some fun with it when it is finished. I enjoyed your April moments--lots of interesting things and beautiful photos of them. Like the row of plates lined up! Easter--the most important celebration of the church's year … and what a wonderful field of poppies!
ReplyDeleteOh beautiful Shane, I agree, we all have to stop and stand still to enjoy life. So true.
ReplyDeleteAmazing images, and that yacht, wow, that is one beautiful project.
