I used Pixlr and BeFunky to boost saturation and blur the edges.
May's Personal Photo Challenge topic
set by Donna is
COLOURFUL
If you would like to join in
Our embroidery group had a special lunch
at a French cafe on Tuesday
to celebrate Rosie's significant birthday!
I mentioned to the girls that I hoped to find
something colorful to photograph that day!
When I saw these brilliant red cakes I knew this
was the photo op I was waiting for!
I took this photo of my granddaughter at Château de Fontainebleau last year.
I use a basic “Point and Shoot”
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3 with a Leica
lens.
I followed Donna's suggestion and
edited each photo to adjust the colour saturation,
vibrance and contrast.
Do pop over and see what everyone else
Thank you Donna for continuing to
inspire me to think about what I am
seeing through the lens before I click!!
Wishing you all a happy weekend!

This was a fun challenge, wasn't it? They all are enriching and challenge us to think and use our eyes and photo skills. I love the one of your granddaughter . What a pop of color! And enjoyed all the extra ones you popped in at the end. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe photo of your granddaughter is fabulous, definitely my favourite.
ReplyDeleteI love your colors...especially loving the photo of your grand. :)
ReplyDeleteFun link party....

Gorgeous! The shine on the photos is just beautiful. My favorite, I think probably yours, too, is the little girl with the bright pink coat skipping up the stairs to the grand Chateau. Lovely, lovely editing!
ReplyDeleteNice shots! My favorite is the granddaughter on the steps. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos Shane. I love the bright red desserts and the bright pops of colour in the more neutral backgrounds. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to anticipate a photo and fulfill the anticipation. Nice shots!
ReplyDeleteGreat colorful photos The one of your granddaughter was especially nice. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteOH MY! The photo of your granddaughter is amazing! She really stood out against all the weathered grays. Love your photos for the challenge my friend! Have a fabulous weekend! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteAlthough the red cakes look pretty enticing, my favourite is the red flowers in the wheat field.
ReplyDeleteOf course your granddaughter in the distance with her hot pink coat needs to be mentioned too!
Oh my...what gorgeous photos! My favorite is your granddaughter wearing that pink jacket! The contrast is astounding!
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful photos, Shane. I love the red cake, but my favorite is your granddaughter at Fontainebleu. It looks like a still from a movie. The modern pink against the old weathered stone building is striking. All sorts of stories could be imagined with that photo.
ReplyDeleteLindas fotos, Shane!
ReplyDeleteOs vermelhos são "apetitosos" , os amarelos no final são vibrantes mas, a foto da neta é sensacional!
Parabéns!
Um abraço!
Beautiful photos, Shane!
The reds are "appetizing", the yellows at the end are vibrants , the granddaughter photo is phenomenal!
Congratulations!
Hugs!

Wonderful compositions! I love the pink pop of color in the second one.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had fun with the colour assignment, Shane. All of your pictures are beautiful, but I especially like the one of your granddaughter -- the pop of colour against the stone, the youth juxtaposed against the historic chateau.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing those beautiful photos! Love the one of your Grand on the steps - a real treasure.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Dear Shane,

Beautiful photos, Shane...but the one of your granddaughter on the steps...breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos- I especially love the bright spot of your granddaughters coat!
ReplyDeleteSeriously bright, that gateau! you definitely nailed this challenge!
ReplyDeleteWow- you've sure got the POP of colour in each of your photos. LOVE the granddaugher and her hot pink coat, climbing those steps...
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love a pop of red color in the photo? I could dive right into those red-colored cakes, especially after I read the little chalkboard description! That was good to include it in the composition. Adore the granddaughter photo climbing the stairs. I bet it was with exuberance, LOL. Lovely focusing treatment on that one to emphasize the subject. And the "accidental" poppies in the wheat field is a beautiful example of color contrasts, and also tenacity! Wonderful job on the challenge, Shane!
ReplyDeleteHi Shane over from Donna's photo challenge. I love to shoot colors but did not realize how often enhancement makes it even better photo. I love the poppies in the field. I have learned so much from each of you.
ReplyDeleteI love bright colors, so these photos really speak to me! Great job.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Shane - I do enjoy your photo challenge posts :-)
