My roses are almost finished for the season
last week I picked the last
little spray of flowers of 'The Fairy'.
She has bloomed her little heart out all summer long
thank you dear Fairy!
The white rose is 'Iceberg'
it does very well in Auckland
and blooms from November to May.
I've got six bushes in one bed
and they have put on a good show for months.
I will prune and feed them in early June
and put them to bed for the winter.
I'm joining Liz for Fresh Cut Friday
and
Mary for Mosaic Monday

Such a beautiful post Shane and such beautiful roses. The Fairy rose is a tough one indeed and dries well also.
ReplyDeleteIt's always hard to see the last of the roses isn't it!
I always dry a few to keep me company until we meet again in Spring!
Have a great week ahead!
Suzy♥
You have such a gift for gardening, Shane. These are all splendid!
ReplyDeleteYou have showcased your gorgeous roses so beautifully dear Shane ♥...
ReplyDeleteWe have The Fairy rose too and are just now watching as she is greening up to begin her parade of blooms here in Virginia...

Dearest Shane,
ReplyDeleteOne can sense some melancholic undertone for having to say goodbye for another year to those lovely roses... To me they are the best reward coming from our gardens. We too have had Iceberg roses but lost them due to two summers of extreme drought. It hurts for having to loose most of your precious roses...
Thank you for sharing yours with us!
Hugs to you and happy new week.
Mariette
What beautiful roses you grow, Shane. The photos are just gorgeous. You must have a green thumb! xo
ReplyDeleteShane, your roses are so pretty. The pink Fairy Rose is my favorite. Gorgeous post, thanks for sharing.. Have a happy week!
ReplyDeleteShane, just beautiful, I have the same rose in my garden and as we are just going into spring, it will start blooming again!
ReplyDeleteXo
Such beautiful flowers and I love the shades of pink.
ReplyDeleteYour roses are just ending and yesterday I saw the first one of mine bloom. The white Iceberg roses are really stunning.
ReplyDeleteDo you have trouble with black spot there, or are you dry enough that it doesn't take hold?
Have a wonderful week Shane.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful roses!! Love the mosaic - you did good!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Shane
ReplyDeleteThose blossoms are exquisite.
I also have to say that my eye has travelled to the photograph of your mother on your sidebar, what a beautiful woman and so elegant.

Pretty roses! Yours are almost done and ours are just beginning. There is always a rose in bloom somewhere! Beautiful photos, loved the mosaic.
ReplyDeleteThey are exquisite! :) Here, mine will bloom a month from now :
ReplyDeleteBeautiful roses Shane. I've heard that 'Iceberg' is a robust specimen and very fragrant.
ReplyDeleteHi Shane! Not late at all! :) So glad you shared your pretty roses for Fresh-Cut Friday! :)

Your roses are beautiful! I have one ice berg and it is in bloom now. My bed of red Knockout roses was flush with color until this week, but all are now fading. Same with my yellow rose. It's just spring here in TX, so they will flush out again and again through the summer.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and following along at Hyacinths for the Soul. Welcome! I'm happy to find your beautiful blog and have added you to my sidebar. I look forward to more visits.
The roses are so lovely. I haven't seen much of that variety. Lovely mosaics.
ReplyDeleteShane, my dear, how sweet of you to come for a visit and leave such nice words! I hope you are well and fine, but I believe you must be in such a wonderland of roses. I come and visit you here frequently, but very often, I do not find the time to say hello... But I am happy to have seen you today and I wish you a merry and peaceful week! Hugs, Manu
ReplyDeleteHow Gorgeous! Love the colors...
ReplyDeleteHappy Day Shane!
