A Yellow Rose

As Autumn has my garden in her grasp
I'm making the most of the last blooms.
My lovely roses are bravely offering up
the odd flower here and there.
In a couple of weeks I will prune them
and say Merci and Au Revoir until next Spring!

Rose brought me this lovely yellow bloom
on our last embroidery day.
I can't remember the name
but I want to order it to plant in Spring.
If you would like to know the name too
let me know in your comment
and I will be in touch.

I'm joining Gemma for
Monday Mellow Mondays
and
Macro Monday
and
Isabelle at Le Chateau des Fleurs

to my dear friends on the other side of the world
I'm really enjoying seeing your Spring gardens
the beautiful lilacs just take my breath away
sadly, they don't grow where I live..

why is it always the unattainable
that we desire most?

Take care and be kind to each other

Merci à bientôt

Shane

  6. Dearest Shane,
Poetic post... and we too cannot grow lilacs here because of the heat and often drought.

  9. Why don't they grow there? Is the climate unsuited for them? It is good that we have friends around the globe who can share their current joys with us whether it be the coziness of a fire or the beauty of a rose.

Yes, the weather is starting to get a little cooler - wandering around outside I noticed a hyacinth coming up in a pot - seems early.

  20. My lilacs did bloom beautifully and are now finished for the season. On to the roses beginning to bloom. I have a yellow rose called the Poet that blooms throughout the summer starting now and is usually the last to stop blooming. It is amazing. Love seeing your yellow, my favorite color.
