A Skywatch post
During the Summer months
we spend a lot of time
on the water and I'm always
in awe of the beauty
of the sky.
The sky in these last two photos
was translucent
and the colors were quite magical.
I would love you to visit
both these parties
to meet other like minded bloggers.
Why not join in - it's fun!
I meant to tell you
that down under in the
Southern Hemisphere
daylight saving ended last weekend
when we put our clocks back one hour
... sad to say goodbye to
2012/13 Summer!
Thank you for your lovely comments
and welcome to my new followers.
À bientôt
and be kind to one another

Hi Shane
ReplyDeleteDown under has gorgeous skies too. Do you have a name for those white clouds that look like fish scales?
Judith

As you move into fall, we move into spring - but despite the distance between our islands, yours looks much like mine.
ReplyDeleteHi Shane,
ReplyDeleteYes, sad to say goodbye to summer but I am enjoying the cooler weather.
Love your beautiful sky photos and sunsets and I often think this time of the year the light is gorgeous.
Hope you have a lovely weekend
hugs
Carolyn
Absolutely stunning. I love the colors and the clouds spreading out in rays.
ReplyDeleteWe just turned to Daylight Savings - and the sun is highter in the sky every day - still waiting for warmer weather in our area - though we don't have snow. In the very northwest corner of the country - we have lots of rain all year and now the days slowly go to less rain - more sun - ahhhh spring.
Gorgeous pics. The sky can create some magical patterns :) Autumn greetings from Australia♥ ~Pernilla

Such beautiful sky photos :)
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I read the title of your post, Shane, I knew which poem you were quoting. I remember memorizing that John Masefield poem in Grade 5 or 6 and it's always stuck with me (unlike most of the other things I learned in school.) Beautiful photos. Sea and sky are such a wonderful combination.
ReplyDeleteYour sky photos are beautiful. I'm a sky fanatic and am having a blast at Mary's party this week.
ReplyDeleteShane your photos are spectacular. I just wish I could see them larger. Great job on a theme. And just as we are looking forward to summer, you are headed the other way!
ReplyDeleteYour summer skies are unbelievable. They are like heavenly skies, so indescribably beautiful, I can barely believe it. You will miss summer, Iknow!

That sky is gorgeous in your photo!!! There is nothing more calming to me than a beautiful sky above the open sea! It puts me at ease! I hope you have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteDearest Shane,
ReplyDeleteSorry for the ending of your daylight saving time but you so graciously handed it down to us a couple of weeks ago. We are now enjoying the lush new leaves and the many blossoms.
Thanks for this poetic post.
Hugs,
Mariette
Hello Shane! Thanks for visiting my blog through Marie. This is the post that came up when I first visited this morning, and what is here but the sea quote that I have been hunting for. I have a vintage photo that I wanted to incorporate with this quote in a piece of art, but couldn't remember the whole thing, and had no luck in my searching. I will take it as a "sign" that reading your blog is meant to be! Many thanks, Sue. XO
ReplyDeleteAwesome sky pics. I've not seen colorful sunrises in awhile -- usually winter time is when we see the most color. Right now, the sky is completely white from the dust. Yuck! Have a great weekend. Tammy
