Chateau farm fences

In the wheat cropping areas of France
many farms don't have boundary fences
as there are no animals to contain.

After driving for miles with no fences
I was excited to see this hedge
along the roadside boundary of
the Chateau farm.

The Chateau was hidden until we came
to a clearing and
all of a sudden there it was....
a pretty chateau
complete with simple farm fences!

Fontainebleau Carousel

On my recent post on Fontainebleau fences here
my very observant friend Mary of the wonderful blog
spotted this carousel in the background
of one of the photos!

So here it is - the girls had a wonderful time
riding on the various animals.

They also managed to spot an ice cream stall nearby -
funny how they never miss one of those!

I love the pretty carousels in France
they are painted beautifully
and not at all tacky like the showground ones.

Enjoy your week
 and
be kind to one another

  Merci à bientôt

Personal Photo Challenge - Layering Textures

Original photo

Hello dear friends
today I'm linking up to a fun party!

Donna's
Personal Photo Challenge
this month's topic is
layering and texture.

Please click on the photos to get a larger image

My subject is a photo I took in France this year of
 Château d'Ancy-le-Franc.
I used the program Be Funky and
overlayed with a grunge texture

I had fun with this texture!
Using PicMonkey I applied a
french fleur de Lys to each of the big doors
(they seem to have got lost in the snowflakes)
and then with the Winterland brush
I added snowfall!

Here I've used Pixlr
Overlay of Tie Dye Mango and skin
for interesting light.

Maybe some of you may like to join in
and try some of these techniques.
The programs I've used are all free
and fun to play with.
Pop over to Donna's

Thank you dear Donna for hosting
this wonderful challenge
it was fun playing with texture and layering!

Thank you dear friends for being here
WELCOME
to my new followers - it's lovely to meet you!

Merci à bientôt

Gris en France...

Hello dear friends
today I'm joining
Michelle for her
Grey Dey Thursdey
party
(sorry I'm a little late Michelle).

I took these photos in France a couple of months ago.

Just a quick update on my knees
at last some relief....
I've had one physio session
which did wonders
and I feel like I'm back in the land of the living
(and not the walking wounded)
such a relief!

THANK YOU

my lovely friends
for all your emails,
and comments here - you're so kind and thoughtful!

WELCOME
