I've taken hundreds of photos with my iPhone 7 Plus
so for Five on Friday this week I thought I would give you a taste
of Summer Downunder 2017.
1. Bean Rock Lighthouse in the harbour approaching Auckland.
(do you recognise it H from your visit to our shores in December?)
I so, so wish I had known you were coming......
2. Yachts of sizes and class enjoying the light breeze.
Our niece Amber and Tony shucking scallops!
Thank you Tony for diving - you're a great hunter and collector!
Their youngest shipmate 'Miss Pippy' who loves being out on the boat.
This is the Cruise ship season here, from November to April.
I love going down quayside to see what ships are in port.
This one is 'Ovation of the Seas' of the Royal Caribbean Line.
Auckland really comes alive when the ships are here and
the tourists add to the holiday atmosphere while visiting our shores.
I'm joining Amy for Five on Friday
Thank you Amy for hosting
Take care and
be kind to one another
à bientôt
Shane
Beautiful. Looks like gorgeous weather. And Miss Pippy sure is cute.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so warm and peaceful and your photos are wonderful. Love Miss Pippy:)
ReplyDeleteIt does look gorgeous Shane, and I particularly love your second photo. Your weather looks utterly perfect and I'd fly over in a heartbeat, given a chance! xx
ReplyDeleteWatching those large cruise ships come into port must be exciting. How lucky you are to live in such a place.
ReplyDeleteLooks like such a wonderful place Shane. I'm still looking at snow on the ground. Miss Pippy is adorable!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so lovely - thank you for sending the sunshine our way for a few moments :)
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the big ships! And Miss Pippy is adorable! Enjoy your day sweet lady!
ReplyDeleteAhhh looks wonderful and very relaxing, can I come over? 😄💟😄
ReplyDeleteThank you for my (almost) ocean fix. I lived in California most of my adult life. Now that I'm landlocked, I really miss the water. Your photos were a welcome relief from our brown and gray winter scene.
ReplyDeleteI am longing for the days in the water once again. This looks so inviting and such fun!
ReplyDeleteI still think of Auckland Harbour and wish I could be back there! It is so very pretty and accessible. I wish I'd thought to let you know we'd be there. We are looking ahead and thinking that we'd like to make a return trip, perhaps in '18
ReplyDeleteYour day on the boat must have been great fun - I can just about smell the salt air! I was just down on the beach an hour ago to catch the last of the sunrise. We are having high winds, so there was no lazy meander along the shore - rather a 'hood up, chin down and brisk walk'. No matter, I love it!
Great photos of the boats and the harbor. Have a blessed evening. Madeline
ReplyDeleteDearest Shane,
ReplyDeleteLovely day together for two- and four-legged family members alike
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
Oh how I am longing for summer and to see the water again....
ReplyDeletebeautiful photos , and I adore Miss Pippy!
I can't imagine living close to such beautiful water and being able to see the big yachts and sailboats. We live 'on water' (the local river runs right by our apartment building) and we often see boats but they're small motorboats and usually quite noisy. Such beautiful colours in your pictures!
ReplyDeletelooks like Heaven on the water...can't wait till next summer
