The Lakes Golf Course & Resort Pauanui

On our recent trip to Coromandel we checked out
The Lakes Resort and Golf Club
a short distance from Pauanui.
There is also a gated resort style community there which we could
only see from a distance. The houses all looked very upmarket
but not our cup of tea!

While neither of us are golfers we enjoyed our little tour.
I had always thought I would like to take up golf when I retire
but now with one of my knees giving me grief
I feel I may be past it!!!

Do you play golf, I know it is a great way of exercising!

These are the 'bunkers' which look very tricky for a non-golfer like me!

I'm joining Maggie for Mosaic Monday
and I hope to catch up with you all there!

I may not visit you until the weekend because work gets in the way
of my fun blogging time!
Meantime, thank you all for your visits.

Take care and
be kind to one another

à bientôt

Shane

  1. That does look like a charming golf course Shane. I always intended to take up golf too, but I feel my time has past, as my knees also would attest. However, I'd be happy to stroll on those beautiful greens.

  2. It looks like a lovely place if you like golf. The only golfing I have ever done is the miniature kind and although I have fun, I usually have the highest score. My husband, who is usually good at most sports, failed at golf. He once joined his company's golf team and at the end of the year was awarded the trophy for going where no one had gone before.

  4. The Lakes golf course and resort looks beautiful but I don't think it would be my cuppa tea either. When we came to live in Normandy we did begin to play golf but the Senior Partner tore his right rotator cuff and that was the end of that. I was quite relieved to be honest because I'm not a very sporty person! I much prefer pottering in the garden when the weather is fine and scrapbooking or reading when it isn't.

  5. I'm not a golfer but the pictures make it look appealing! I would enjoy golfing for the scenery I think!

  6. That looks a lovely course Shane. Before Imoved to New Zealand we had two 18 hole courses near us. We often used to walk around them but, like you, I am not a golfer.

  8. Dearest Shane,
Lovely photos and golfer or not, one only can enjoy this!
Well, I'm way behind with visiting blogs as on February 22nd I'd just finished my 100 hours of crocheting the huge Fleur de Lys curtain in our veranda. So happy that is done and now my left thumb and index finger need to recover... Need to do the second, half its size in 50 hours. But I wait a while. Our ONLY problem is time!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  9. I learned to golf when I was hoping to snag my husband (obviously it worked!). I didn't know what 'hand' I was and ended up buying the wrong clubs which led to some pretty abysmal scores. Suffice to say I never had to worry about watching where my ball went because it never went very far! After we had kids we quit golfing. I wish we could take it up again now, but it costs a tremendous amount so out of our budget.

  10. Such a pretty golf course, Shane, with the palm trees and mountains in the distance. My Mr. plays golf, as he participates in tournaments for charity through the company he works for. He has tried to teach me, but I am terrible at it. All that walking and swinging and standing around.......just to hit a ball.... No, I would rather hang out in the clubhouse with a martini :) Sending hugs xo Karen

  12. I don't play golf but know that if I did all my balls would end up in the water. I'd rather just jump in myself,it looks so clean and cool.
