In the last post I told you all about my best friend visiting
we've had another VIP staying for the last three weeks
her name is Snowball - Snow for short.
As you can see she is a beauty with jet black fur
and emerald green eyes!
She has been confined to the house until this weekend
when we let her roam outside for short stints
she was in 'cat heaven', sniffing and looking at everything,
not a single leaf went unnoticed!
Karen, I thought you would appreciate seeing
some photos of Snow - you can show them to Cameo!
Snow belongs to our son and has been living in the
maize paddock, hunting day and night.
She isn't the friendliest girl in the world, however
she is gradually learning to trust us.
Sadly Snow and our son are moving to Melbourne soon
and we will miss them both dearly.
I've enjoyed Snow's company and antics
while she has been with us...
she waits on the stairs for me every morning, and
YES
she has wormed her way into my heart.
c'est la vie!
This morning I had a little wander around the garden
and took some photos - it was sunny but it's quite hard
to see in these photos - apart from the pansies!
I'm joining Karen for Sunlit Sunday
and
Judith for Mosaic Monday
Thank you both for hosting these parties!
Welcome to my new followers and
thank you all for your comments,
I'll be catching up on your blogs this week!
Take care and
be kind to one another
Merci à bientôt
Shane
This reminds me of the black cat that my daughter rescued last summer. She called it "Sunny" as we were in the middle of a heatwave at the time. Oh, well...
ReplyDeleteI wonder why she is called Snow!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a funny pussycat with lovely green eyes. She is really a Snowball between the snowballs of the Hydrangeas.
ReplyDeleteSnow is gorgeous. Oh, how I love cats! I have a solid black cat named Magic.
ReplyDeletep.s. you could also link up with Eileen for Saturday's Critters.
ReplyDeleteCute name for a black cat! :)
ReplyDeleteStopping by to visit from your spotlight post. Love your pictures and you have such a pretty blog!
ReplyDeleteShe is a very pretty girl, that snowball. Love her name. I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful photographs of your garden as well.
ReplyDeleteI love that her name is Snowball although she is as far from the color of snow as possible. lol
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to get attached and then lose a fur baby. Hope you have a wonderful day- xo Diana
How cute to give the black kitty the name Snowball!!!! She is lovely and I know must be finding your beautiful garden an exciting new place to investigate.
ReplyDeleteHope your son enjoys life in Melbourne - I was just reading an article about that cosmopolitan city - it sounds like a good place to live - but very different from the countryside perhaps!
Hope your weekend was fun. We are actually, at long last, having some slightly warmer days. Heading out to the garden later and will clean up the branches, damaged shrubs etc. that came down in the ice storm last week! Such a lot of work and I'm not up to bending much these days - Bob says I can point and he will bend, ha ha! What would I do without him?
Love you, Mary
Well, you know I find it hard to resist a cat post! Snowball is gorgeous. What beautiful eyes. I suspect you will miss your son -- I'm not sure how far Melbourne is from you, but not close, I think.
ReplyDeleteShane,
ReplyDeleteYour son's black cat is gorgeous. Love his green eyes.
Enjoy him while you have him staying. He is beautiful.
Kris
The cat is beautiful. The flowers are too. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteDear Shane, what a beautiful cat, I so understand you will miss Snowball and your son, when they move away.
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks so beautiful, and summerly, as we are still waiting for spring here.
I hope all is well ?
Hugs,Dorthe
Those sweet furbabies have a way of adopting a person as theirs. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your pretty flowers.
To name a cat snow when it is black! I like that. Groetjes,
ReplyDeleteHetty
So lovely to see Snowball! She is very cute. I am glad that you have had fun together! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Cute name for the black cat too. Someone has a sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter called one of their black fluffy kittens snowball. Must be the humorous way of thinking in the young. I'm sure you'll miss your son , we miss our son, is it easy to travel to Melbourne for you. ? Love the photos of your garden .
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful cat!
ReplyDeleteAnd the verse I remember from my childhood, it has a German Transation:
"Pussycat, Pussycat, wo hin willst du gehn?
Ich will nach London, die Königin sehn.
Pussycat, Pussycat, was willst du von ihr?
Unterm Thron sitzt ein Mäuslein, das fange ich mir."
We had it in a beloved book.
Have a nice new week
How sweet !! She looks just like the cat who visits my garden !!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Hello Shane, your son's kitty Snowball is pretty. A sweet visitor.. Lovely images from your garden! Thank you so much for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy day and week ahead!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty kitty. That's cute calling her Snowball! I still have my daughters cat since she went to college and couldn't have her. That was 8 years ago! My son lives 2400 miles away now- too far!
ReplyDeleteI hope your son has checked thoroughly that he really is permitted to take his cat to Melbourne. Does he have all Snowball's papers? Customs and Immigration can be quite nasty sometimes. And not all rental accommodation allows pets. All the best, but check twice and move once.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet kitty, Shane, and with down-under humour, of course she is called Snowball! Your flowers, gorgeous as always. Have a nice week! xx
ReplyDeleteBonjour Shane, what a sweet post! Your kitten story and wow, your garden is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteDear Shane,
ReplyDeletewhat a sweet cat! Snowball, such a funny name for a black cat! She looks like our little black cat, we have :O)
Wishing you a blessed new week,
lov and hugs
Claudia xo
Dearest Shane,
ReplyDeleteThat will be tough if both your son and Snowball move out and away... Life is never easy!
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
Lovely. Feline though... she looks a Queen that likes to be treated like one. I guess it comes from the fact that she's loved and cared by your son ahahah
ReplyDeleteSorry to read they're moving away so these moments are even more precious because they become engraved in the hearts.
Take Care,
Teresa
Lovely lovely photos, Shane..happy week to you! Xo
ReplyDeleteHi Shane, I'm visiting from Junk Chic Cottage. Your blog is beautiful and your love of roses and all things Parisian is right up my alley. Looking forward to following you and enjoying your stunning photography!
ReplyDeleteMarie@The Interior Frugalista
Snowball is a beauty-those eyes are amazing! She looks quite comfortable outdoors. Thanks for sharing the lovely blooms too. Looking forward to flowers and Spring here.
ReplyDeleteHello, dear friend! Snowball is quite the beauty! I have a black cat who goes by the name of Ebony :)
ReplyDeleteMay you have a glorious week, sweet Shane. Love and hugs!
What a gorgeous cat! I hope you win her complete trust. Lovely flowers!
ReplyDeleteThe comment box wouldn't open for me earlier but I made it this time. Snowball sounds like a cute kitty to have around, too bad you couldn't take Cameo from Karen for yourself!
ReplyDeleteWe have a beautiful sunny day with milder temps today, spring is inching its way here.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Shane.
Love the wander in your garden and meeting Snowball. How ever did Snowball get his name when he is totally black. Must have been tongue in cheek. Cute!
ReplyDeleteSnowball looks like she might have been rolling in the soot! I wonder, too, how she got her name. She's a beautiful kitty.
ReplyDeleteSnowball is a beauty! Bet you've enjoyed the time with her. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteSnow/Snowball, the perfect name for a black cat, and she looks delightfully happy in her visit to you and your garden~
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet look VIP Snowball, or Snow is!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!

Oh, so sad that Snow will be leaving soon and taking your dear son with him. My son has an exact replica of Snow, named Lucky, and he is also very reserved and inclined to be ill-tempered around 'others'. He is only loving to my son and his wife. I took care of him once and he boxed me good around the ears when I had the audacity to pick him up! Lol! I hope that you get to visit Snow and Son often. Hugs xo K
ReplyDeleteI thought you were going to talk about a snowball bush when I saw the photo. Good name for him.
ReplyDeleteDear Shane,
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet kitty and I loved seeing your photos.
Wishing your son all the best with his move to Melbourne
Have a great weekend
Sending hugs
Carolyn
Love this post.. What a dear name.. Your pics are wonderful as always.. xo
ReplyDeleteSnow is beautiful and the garden looks like a wonderful place for a kitty to wander. It sounds like you enjoy the kitty's company!
