A visit to a farmers market
is one of my favourite
weekend things to do.
The lavender lady's stall
is full of things I love.
I bought several bits and bobs.
Pony rides were popular
with the children
I made a new friend.
I would love to have taken
him home with me!
Who could resist a packet
of these seeds, now I can't
wait for next Summer
to see their blooms!
Fresh buffalo mozzarella
looks so yummy!
Another new friend I made
was the image of
chef Rick Stein's
faithful friend
Chalky!
We enjoyed the lovely family
atmosphere at the
Clevedon farmers market.

Hello, Shane
ReplyDeleteIn writing about visiting a farmers' market, you've described one of my favourite things to do in the summer and autumn. I'd be tempted to linger by the lavender and choose some good cheese. As for peonies, I haven't grown them from seed but love having them in my garden.
I'm so glad you shared this lovely market post at "Sunlit Sunday".

I love Farmers Markets and this one seems to be particularly wonderful! The doggies are adorable as are the sweet ponies.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining in this week!

I don't think I would be too far from the lavender stall :-))
ReplyDeleteDear Shane,
ReplyDeleteOh I love the many buntles with lavender- and would also have been tempted to buy at the lavender lady`s stall. It is so cosy to be on farmers markets, and look and chat, and meet new friends :-)
Hugs,Dorthe
We have Farmer's markets here in the summer time. It will be several months before anything can start to grow. We are still covered in snow. The little pony's are so cute. The Lavender lady's stall looked very inviting.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful farmers market you have! We husband is a teacher and we enjoy going to our local one every week when he's on summer vacation, so much fun. But gosh, nothing so charming as yours. Wow!
ReplyDeleteHappy week to you!
Dearest Shane,
ReplyDeleteThat sure was a lovely and summery Farmer's Market!
Glad you had such a great time.
Hugs to you,
Mariette
What a wonderful day you must have had, makes me feel quite homesick.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing your market photos. I love the lavender booth! Our market is closed right now for the winter. Where I grew up we had a year round indoor market. I really wish there was that sort of thing around here!
ReplyDeleteIt looks as if you had a great time at the farmer's market with lots of interesting stalls and things to see, do and buy. Hope your week is going well.
ReplyDeleteHi Shane,
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to go to the Farmers Market and I love all your photos.
Love the sweet dogs and yes, we used to love cute little Chalkie - remember him chasing a rabbit one time.
Look forward to seeing your peonies when they flower.
Also my favourite salad, tomato, basil and buffalo mozzerella, yum.
Have a happy Wednesday
hugs
Carolyn
I have heard the farmer's market in Clevedon is pretty wonderful. I had the joy of going to the farmers market up at Matakana on Saturday. Oh my goodness I think a lot of Auckland was there. Must admit there was an outdoor Pat Bennetar concert to start later in the day.wonderful products. I would have hovered at the Lavender stall for quite a while as well. What lovely pups you saw. I will always stop if there is a poodle in site and pat, can't help myself. We used to have a lovely apricot poodle. Enjoy your blog Shane. Kind regards from a fellow N.ZER Shirley
ReplyDeleteLonging for farm markets again! Chalky looks like my childhood Jack Russell. Loved that dog!
ReplyDeleteShane-- don't we all just love visiting the Farmer's markets?!!! Your photos are stunning-- especially love the lavender!

ReplyDeleteYou are reminding me of what we have in store in a few months as it is still winter here in Virginia :)
