Hello dear friends!
Today I'm sharing with you
one of my fave cafes in
my corner of the world
Auckland - New Zealand!
Auckland - New Zealand!
"Little and Friday"
opened a second cafe here last year
on the strength of the huge success
of their first one in Belmont.
Late last year a friend and I
lunched at their new venue
in Newmarket
not far from where we live.
Their cakes are "to die for"
the sort that you want
to eat slowly
and really enjoy the experience!
have you got the picture
(I can even dream about their cakes!!!)
But I started my lunch with
a small piece of delicious
"Caramelised red onion and
Haloumi Tart"
totally melt in the mouth pastry
(I even have dreams about this too)!!
I followed with an
exquisite pear tart,
and I didn't add yoghurt
or cream.... wasn't I disciplined
(a first!!!)
(a first!!!)
Jennie had an
Orange and Rosewater cake
with clotted cream
(naughty Jen!!!)
no, to be fair that's how
it was served!
no, to be fair that's how
it was served!
Lemon tarts looked so
delicious too!
We sat at a big dining room table
shared by several others -
it was a lovely atmosphere
and we all chatted to one another.
They had some great fashion mags
to read, if you were there on your own!
The coffee was excellent
I had Cafe Latte
it was strong and very hot
just how I like it!!!
Tomorrow I will share with you my
recipe for the
Caramelised Onion and Houlami Tart.
Thank you
all for popping in to see me
especially
those of you who leave
comments....
love you!
A big
welcome to my new followers
LunatixSy, A friend from Sweden, and Kim
Thank you

Be kind to

ReplyDeleteHi Shane,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet comment on my blog! It still amazes me where all the people who leave comments come from. Like you New Zealand....it's the other end of the world for us :-)
I can imagine why you like this café. The cakes look absolutely delicious!
Enjoy your day!

Oh I love places like that, but they are so dangerous for the waistline! Looks so pretty, almost too pretty to eat. xox Corrine
ReplyDeleteOh WOW, now I am hungry for one of those wonderful treats. Everything looks so yummy good.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great spot to meet friends and relax over lunch and dessert.
Thank you for stopping by and your kind comment. The place I featured was in Michigan. Hometown of Henry Ford.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
Shane, I'm ashamed for not coming by to visit in so long! Seeing your kind comment today made me realize I wasn't 'following' you so I've rectified that tonight! My travels have kept me so busy since last Sept. and I've just fallen behind with all the day to day stuff.....like visiting all the blogs! Will try to keep up now - but believe me, a lot of travels coming this year so please be forgiving if I'm missing now and then.
ReplyDeleteIt was a disappointment not having more time to explore Auckland - we were only there a few hours before the ship left, all I really saw was flying over the city before landing and the docks! Next time I'm coming to stay longer........and you must definitely take me to taste these fabulous looking pastries.......please!!!!!
Hope all is well - I'll be reading back through your posts asap.
Hugs from far away. Have a lovely Summer - Mary
I love visiting Auckland and must store this in the memory for my next visit. I wouldn't know where to start with so many amazing things on the menu.
