Good fences and the A380

I took this photo with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3 with a Leica lens

The Emirates A380 aeroplane waiting for the runway to clear
at Auckland International Airport
before take off to some exotic destination!

From previous posts, you may have already guessed
I've had a long fascination with aircraft and airports.
For me they offer the opportunity
to connect with family living
on the other side of the world.
Since the A380 commenced flights out of New Zealand
I've dreamed of flying in this aircraft
and I'm hoping to bring this dream to fruition next year!

I took this photo last Sunday just before dusk.

Beautiful Windows of France

I'm always attracted to the beautiful
windows when I'm in France
and take photos whenever I can.

I love the old doors and entrance ways too
I could do a series on these
but I need to get my photos in some order
as it takes me forever to find the ones I want!!

Last time I came back with over 3000 photos
not a good thing for someone like me.
I need to do some serious sorting
I'm open to suggestions to get this organised
so your tips and ideas are very welcome!

Now that I'm back working three days
time is precious and I have to use it wisely!

Wading through photos to find the right one
can get tedious as I'm sure you all know!!!

I'm joining Judith for Mosaic Monday
do pop in and say hello
maybe you would like to join in too.
I'll look out for you!

Tea with Friends

We had dinner with friends last night
and following a beautiful meal

we all enjoyed tea from this beautiful old tea set
that belonged to her mother.

I don't know the name of the china
maybe one of the tea cup experts will recognise it
and tell me!

UPDATE
My friend Ann from Eight Acres of Eden
Tells me the pattern is called
Provence by Tuscan.

My friend Elizabeth of the blog
Cornish Cream
has put out a call for prayers.
Her husband has been taken to hospital
after a bad fall yesterday.
Please keep them both in your thoughts and prayers.

Meeting friends while out walking.

It's Saturday and as usual I went for a quick
walk in Cornwall Park.
The weather was crisp, yet fine and
we even caught a glimpse of the sun for
about five minutes!

It seemed like everyone had the same idea.
I met up with these two characters
we stopped for a chat
and then we went our separate ways!
You've got to agree they're cute!

I'm joining Eileen for Saturday Critters
please pop over and check out
everyone's delightful posts!

Thank you all for your comments

Parnell Houses

Parnell is an inner city suburb of Auckland.
Part of it's charm are the pretty
old Edwardian and Victorian
villas and bungalows.

In recent years real estate prices have soared
because of it's proximity to the CBD.
The old houses are being lovingly restored
to their former glory.

The photo above is the shopping area in Parnell
where there are some lovely boutiques,
cafes and restaurants.

When the cruise ships are in port
passengers often do a tour of Parnell!

I'm joining Judith of Lavender Cottage for

Le Bon Marché

  1. Le Bon Marché
  2. was the first department store in
  3. Paris
  4. built by Gustave  Eiffel in 1852.

My daughter and I spent a couple of hours
there on one of our day trips up to Paris.

It's established, feeling like it has been there forever
the best of everything is on display and available.

The urge to shop was strong...
however I was careful to keep my head
and not let my itchy fingers near my credit card!

The escalators in the centre
of the building were magnificent.
I can imagine children playing on them for hours
however store detectives would probably
curb that type of activity poste haste!

I was fascinated by the perfumery
and was clicking away with my camera
when an assistant came over and
told me cameras were not allowed.......

I bought a few little items for gifts to take home
from the grocery section - La Grande Épicerie

in the next building.

I'm joining Mary for Mosaic Monday

Take care of one another

Merci à bientôt
