It's January Note Card time
freezing conditions at present
I'm taking you outside for a dose
of warm summer air and sunshine!
To 'smell the roses' so to speak
and to bring back memories of those
languid days of Summer.
I want you to smell the heady fragrance of
roses, lavender, alyssum, and thyme.
When you finish reading here
maybe you will spend some time thinking of
what you would like in your Spring garden.
Look through seed/plant catalogues or
magazines for inspiration!
I spend many happy hours doing just that
through our long Winter months.

I like all your photo cards and they are bright and sunny and cheery! And colorful. It is never too early to think about spring here, we never know when it will arrive!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful garden images! They are so welcoming in this cold, dreary January weather!
ReplyDeleteLoving a glimpse of summer and your garden. Now I am indeed dreaming. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm ready to stop and smell the roses.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos Shane!
ReplyDeleteHello sweet Shane,
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty box cover for our eyes to linger on! I so agree re: your thoughts on the beauty and fragrance of these aromatic herbs and I have devoted a corner of my garden to them. Rosemary, thyme, oregano, camomile, lavender, bay leaf, basil and mint! We Greeks depend on these scented wonders both for our cooking and natural therapy for our well being.
Lovely!
Poppy
Sending you some sunshine and love from Panama..I feel for everyone that is stuck in the cold!
ReplyDeleteLovely post today, dear friend!

ReplyDeleteLovely garden scenes make very pretty notecards
ReplyDeleteOh Shane,
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely note cards you've shared with us! The top one is my favorite and yes, I can almost smell the fragrance of the beautiful flowers. Thanks for a touch of warmth and sunshine. xo
You brought some cheer to me on a dreary day Shane with your garden note cards. Pink and purple are my favourite spring colours in the garden and I'd be happy to receive any of these cards.
ReplyDeleteA strange thing, when I try to view your posts on my iPad, it shuts down. Maybe it has something to do my Bloglovin feed.

Thanks for thinking of us up here in the North! You inspired me to do a France summer post today!
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way, I love every single one of these but especially the bird house!
ReplyDeleteLovely garden photos Shane! Nice reminders of spring and summer to come!
ReplyDeleteLovely summer time note cards, Shane! I want to smell the lavender. Mine did not survive last summer so I planted another one. I hope it grows this summer.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your nice comments on my note cards. The journey is going slow but sure.
I could almost smell the sweet aromas of all the flowers you mentioned and pictured. Great photos. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteThey are all lovely! Without a doubt, my favorite is the third one down. I love the burst of colors, and I actually do think you can almost smell the fragrance just as you said. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful note cards dear Shane.
ReplyDeleteYour summer garden looks amazing with the beauty of flowers , birdhouse, and birds playing in the water. I love all your pink flowers.
Hugs and love, Dorthe
Beautiful images, Shane, that make me long for sunny days in the garden. The hydrangeas in the last photo with the bird bath are some of my favourite. Thanks for sharing this bit of summer with us folks in the northern hemisphere.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you, Shane, for a lovely glimpse of warmth and sunshine on this winter's day! Your lovely note cards are quite cheerful!
ReplyDeleteDearest Shane,
ReplyDeleteThis is mighty sweet of you for taking us into your lovely garden! We sure need that at this time of the year. Frost is coming our way again for the coming ten days or so... Not really bad but at night it will be very cold.
Hugs,
Mariette

ReplyDeleteI love your garden photos, how very beautiful. Makes for the prettiest note-cards.

I'll pass on sniffing the lavender (makes me sneeze), but I'll happily inhale the rest and think of spring, which seems to far away right now. Thanks for the lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteThese are delightful photos for note cards and certainly a treat for these winter weary eyes! Beautiful!

Lovely postcard pictures Shane. The birdbath surrounded with hydrangea is really lovely. I adore Lavender. I have quite a bit of English lavender ready for picking and drying. I must hurry and do this otherwise will lose the lot. Shirley

Oh, Shane, those notes cards truly lift the spirit! What gorgeous photographs... and they do make me yearn to start working in the gardens again. Thank you for this breath of spring on a winter's day! Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteShane dear, your garden is SO gorgeous - just viewing all the colorful thriving shrubs and flowers, makes looking out my windows at drabness, shriveled and brown, so dreary!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful 'cards' and the collage is so pretty.
My first Spring seed catalogue arrived a few days ago, and my hollyhock seeds from blog friend Gina too (see my post). I'm getting the urge for some gardening days ahead - but of course that won't be for a few months yet. Meanwhile I'll enjoy your blossoms!
Happy weekend dear one - have fun.

I could spend an afternoon sitting there sipping tea and reading. In California we are having 30 degree days. All the spring and summer flowers are blooming.
ReplyDeleteahhh so very beautiful Shane...

I can almost smell your lovely blooms all the way from here in Virginia ♥
Hope you are having an especially nice weekend...

Beautiful garden pics. And tha's what I actually do, browsing garden catalogues and dreaming of my garden come alive again. though it is very mild this year and I have detected a snowdrop in the front yard as well as lots of hellevore buds.
