I took this photo with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3 with a Leica lens
The Emirates A380 aeroplane waiting for the runway to clear
at Auckland International Airport
before take off to some exotic destination!
From previous posts, you may have already guessed
I've had a long fascination with aircraft and airports.
For me they offer the opportunity
to connect with family living
on the other side of the world.
Since the A380 commenced flights out of New Zealand
I've dreamed of flying in this aircraft
and I'm hoping to bring this dream to fruition next year!
I took this photo last Sunday just before dusk.

Thank you Tex for hosting!
Take care and
be kind to one another
Merci à bientôt

ReplyDeleteGreat photo of the A380! I really like the background lighting and the pond in front.
ReplyDeleteI hope you do get to fly on the A380 next year Shane.

What an amazing photo...the big beautiful airplane and simple fence! WOW! You took a fabulous photo for good fences! Hope you get to travel in it soon! Makes me want to go somewhere on an adventure! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHello dear Shane,
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely with the fenced aeroplain, so wonderful with the naturel fence...here they are of metal, and very high !! Your other photo is fantastic !!
Hope life is fine, and wishes you a lovely weekend .
Hugs,Dorthe
Great photo, Shane. I like the contrast between the simple fence and the high tech airplane. Our complicated world!
ReplyDeletei really like the rural fence they have in front of that airport! such a great contrast to the big jet. :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots of the fence and the plane. The sky is amazing in the shot as well.
ReplyDeleteand I thought the A380 was a road!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have learnt something today.
Love the photo and your dream of flying this plane. While I am an avid traveler, I hate flying and the thought of this plane (I can't imagine how it is able to lift off ;-) )and me in it makes me faint. . .and not from excitement. I hope you get to fly it and then I can read about it here.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely colors in your photo.
ReplyDeleteNo way to keep that plane fenced in, but it does make for an excellent sight. I had the opportunity to visit your part of the world years ago, and loved it.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful photo, Shane. It's not often we see a big plane behind a fence! Love the color of the sky, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty pictures! Thanks for sharing this peaceful sight.

Great shot of the plane and fence.. I love to fly anywhere. I hope you get to go soon, have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot - that glow in the sky is amazing! Hope you get the chance to fly in one of these beautiful planes. I love planes, too - Boeing is one of the largest employers here (near Seattle), so we have lots of opportunity to see them up close. xo Karen
ReplyDeleteDearest Shane,
ReplyDeleteYes, airplanes sure do bridge the gaps between geographic distances between family and friends!
You sure will get to go next year; time is going so fast...
Hugs and happy weekend to you dear friend!
Mariette
It's interesting what you say about airports because I have the same kind of feeling about them. It's always fascinating to me that people go there and then are transported to far away places. I get the same feeling when I see a plane take off. I hope your dream is realized!
ReplyDeleteHi,Shane
ReplyDeleteVery simple and heartwarming post. The combination between the huge airplane and the fence is lovely. I hope you can fly soon! Your dream will come true.
What a big plane! Keep on the path for saving up those pennies, and you'll be on a plane like that soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Shane, you have a beautiful blog too. Thanks so much for your recent visit and comment...looking forward to coming back here.
ReplyDeleteI hope your dream becomes true next year, and that you are sitting in that plane.

Hi. Shane,
ReplyDeleteWe have flown on Emeritas airline from LAX to Dubai, but not on A380..16 hour flight..marvelous service. I love when you post photos of the airliners flying into Auckland. One day we hope to come to NZ for a visit!
Happy early spring to you across the oceans!

Love the photos! I do believe we are kindred spirits, as I love airports too and just imagining where everyone it going and coming from. Love sitting in the waiting area and watch as families say goodbye or re-unite. It sometimes brings tears to my eyes.
