Donna's photo challenge for February is
Street Scenes.
I took these photos last Summer
at Whangamata which is a beach resort
on the Coromandel Peninsula in
New Zealand.
It was the day of the annual "Beach Hop"
where all the 1950's enthusiasts
"strut their stuff"
with their pristine American cars of the era
and professional displays of
"Rock 'n Roll".
It was a fun carnival atmosphere
full of colour
like this Chevvy ute!
Sorry, Donna but I had to include a
5th photo because this completes my photo story!
Elvis and Marilyn
sitting on the back of the convertable!
Thank you Donna for challenging us to think
about what we are photographing!
If only I had known about this challenge
when I took these photos...
I use a basic “Point and Shoot”
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3 with a Leica
lens.
Please pop over to Donna's blog here
to see what everyone else is posting!
Thank you dear friends
for visiting and for your kind comments.
Merci à bientôt

ReplyDeleteThis does look like a fun event, one I know I would enjoy. Love seeing the red pickup. How I would love to have one like that. Yes, you did capture the excitement of the day.
ReplyDeleteIt's a street party! Love it! The whole series tells a story, and you even included an action shot with the dancing. Love the pops of red color along the way too. Gosh, I want that red truck! And the last photo made me chuckle, so no need to apologize for adding it as an extra. You did a terrific job with the challenge!
ReplyDeleteLove these Shane! We had dances when I was a teenager and 'let's go to the hop' was a common phrase that rolled off my tongue.
