as you can see the delicious cakes we enjoy

Hi Shane - loved the pics. My son and family live in NZ South Island and I so love visiting for six weeks each year. I am a great fan of the mag and everything Kiwiana. It is snowing here in London and I so miss your healthy sunshine. I have loved discovering your blog as we both have a love of France too.

ReplyDeleteOh Shane you just exude warmth and hospitality so I think anyone new to your blog will fall in love with you and your blog right away. I know I did. Can I tell you how much I am drooling over your garden and that selaginella spilling over the edge. It's not really hardy enough here to survive our winters but it does so well in pots. I am sure it must be hard to be so far from your grandchildren but if they are to be far at least it is in France so you can visit:)

Oh yes, that would be lovely, having a cup of coffee or tea sitting with you by the Seine, enjoying the sunset behind la Tour Eiffel. What a superb imagination. After that we go to Opera Garnier watching La Boheme or La Traviata, great voices, great music, great atmosphere....just a little daydream, which makes our world a little bit brighter.

I love France as well, and while living in Germany I often went there. I even found my friend from Paris again via Facebook, after we had lost contact sometime in the 80s. Social media can be really good...We hope to go to France this summer if possible, my daughter is learning French in school and can't wait to go and see Paris. I hope it'll work out.

Lovely photos, although I have to admit I'm just a tad bit jealous of those Kiwi sunset you showed in an earlier post...it is below freezing with an icy sleet tonight here in the eastern part of the U.S. so you can imagine how good those photos look to me :)

Hi Shane! What a beautiful garden you have!! I've enjoyed your photos and learning about your family. I also have two grandchildren and two new step-grandchildren who live in Quebec, Canada and only speak French. Although I'm anglophone, I understand French and I'm trying very hard to converse more in French so I can speak to my grandchildren.

ReplyDeleteI visited New Zealand two years ago and it was the best vacation of my life. I visited my friend in KeriKeri who took me all over the northern island.
I also hope to do some quilting this year. I will check back to see how you are getting on.
