LOVE THESE BAGS

Hello dear friends!

I've been such a
 neglectful blogger....
please forgive me!

All of a sudden
Christmas is almost here again
and I had promised
myself last year
that things would be different
for Christmas 2011!!!

I even had a reminder in
my diary...
October - make the Christmas cakes!

One for my daughter and family
in France,
and of course one for us
in New Zealand!

I was going to be so
prepared...

* make Christmas stockings for
my grand daughters
(not finished)

* also make pretty Christmas dolls
for the girls
(not even started, but I do
have the pattern - doesn't really count!)

* make cards for my dear blogging friends
who have been so kind to me,
sending me beautiful gifts,
doing blog posts,
leaving sweet messages here,
when I broke my hand....

(this is a small piece from some exquisite
french lace given to me by Barbara -
do pop in and say hello)

With all my good intentions
I've failed miserably....

 and I don't know why,
but I can't seem to get going
(no excuse I know)

..... until this week..

when all of a sudden,
I've been all of a flurry,
making and creating little cards,
baking Christmas goodies,
decorating the house
and
finally getting that
wonderful
Christmas spirit!

I'm hoping some of you
might feel just like me....

but I'm guessing you've all
been very disciplined
and are completely
organised,
and can now
sit back
and enjoy some Christmas cheer!!!!

The photos are of a
bag and goodies
I made for my lovely
blogging friend Carole.

We finally met earlier
in the year, when she
came to Auckland for
the Vintage Textile Fair!

Thank you my dear friends for visiting my blog.
I will enjoy catching up with you all
and visiting your blogs very soon.
Be kind to one another
Shane

  3. I am always full of good intentions of what I shall make and do but sadly I fail miserably! So the packaging etc. is all shop bought..sigh...
Never mind, it's the thought that counts and my thoughts go out to you dear Shane. I hope you have a peaceful and joyous Christmas, from our house to yours.

  5. Love your creations and I too am getting into the spirit as it is getting colder here. Last night I cranked up the Christmas carols and made gingerbread. The house smelt fabulous and tonight I am planning on making more mulled wine.

  8. Hi Shane,

I am still working on my Christmas things too, always leave it until the last minute.
I love all the beautiful creations you have made, you have a good excuse with you hand, whereas I don't.

Enjoy the week, as we count down the days until Christmas
    Hugs

  9. Hi Shane, thanks for visiting. You have a beautiful blog and creations! I think Christmas has crept up on us this year. I'm just going more minimalistic this year with the decorating.
    Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

  10. I am fond of saying that I work best under pressure but truthfully it's a bald-faced lie. I so envy the organized people who are all ready for any big event at least two months in advance. (btw - I love the image you're using for your blog header).

  12. I love the beautiful pieces you have created! So lovely each one filled with details!
In answer to your question about the 12 Days of Whimsy- anyone can purchase the Ebook. I will also leave all the blog posts up. The eBook was created for those that wanted one file - handy dandy that they could refer to for projects.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season! :)

  13. Well Shane, you are way ahead of me as I've not done much at all. I had planned to send cards to all my blogger friends too and I did a few but then I couldn't remember who I sent to and who I didn't. I keep saying I will plan ahead, I will be organized and somehow it just never pans out. :/ I love what you've managed to create in the past week. Happy holidays to you and yours, Tammy

  14. Dear Shane considering the year you have had I think you have achieved heaps lately - Little expectations on ourselves are far greater in the end. We can but dream!
Your little creations here are so beautiful!
Take care and enjoy the quality not the quantity!
    Love and hugs,
    Suzy

I have been left wondering AGAIN this year where in the world the time went

I think getting thru your injury must have taken so much energy and patience and more...I would pat myself on the back for that if I were you

if I could only get Christmas spirit in June perhaps? I might be ready in time for December hah!

Love your advent story dear one
