MY JOURNAL - Open Your Door Class.
HUNTING AND COLLECTING
Here is the Journal I'm making in Carole's class.
And if you would like to make one too
you can still join in here
Our class is made up of some very
TALENTED people - quite daunting
for ME being such a newbie.
BUT we're all having so much fun!
ME included!!
We've been painting, tearing, collecting, sorting,
and soon we will be sewing.
Carole is teaching us all the techniques
we need to know on how to construct
our own book - from woe to go
I've always wanted to learn
HOW to do this.
Her teaching method is easy to follow
with "hands on" videos.
We can ask questions at any time and
Carole responds promptly with her
sage advice.
Sorry dear friends
I must leave you
I need some more bits and bobs
so I'm on a hunting and collecting mission
WISH ME LUCK!!!

Have fun hunting! Your book is off to a beautiful start!!!
ReplyDeleteHi there, thanks so much for stopping by. Your book is going to be great, love all the textures. We got married in Rorotonga, what an amazing place. Have you been there? I love French things too! We do have many things in common. Take care, Riki
ReplyDeleteI like "from woe to go", and the glimpse of a lovely lace doily. How nice to meet you, and thanks for your kind comment - yes please to the whiskey! Your merry Irish streak is evident! xx
ReplyDeleteYou are a beautiful soul. Your post about Lene was very touching and heart felt. I will pop by and see her blog and say hi.
ReplyDeleteYour diary is so tactile and warm and full of memories, I can tell. I feel like touching it and tipping the pages open.
I found it interesting to learn that you are tall (from my high heeled shoe/blog post). In blogland, we don't know these features about our online friends unless pointed out. How fascinating!
You are clever and creative and your craftiness is catching!

Learning how to make a journal is still on my 'to do list' too. I think I am a bit scared by the thought of creating 'empty pages' that I am supposed to fill.
ReplyDeleteBut by the looks of it, your journal is coming along very nicely. Have fun in class!
Such fun! Look at these -- I love the bits of lace popping out. I really need to spend some time working on a journal this summer. Something for just me! I don't do that often!
ReplyDeleteYour book looks fantastic. I love hunting and collecting missions. Good luck!
ReplyDeletePam

ReplyDeleteWhoa! I love your journal and you're not even finished yet! Lovely arrangement of layers. I look forward to seeing the pages.
ReplyDeleteI also love the design of your blog. Great colors and patterns - very vintage. I don't know what one calls the top of one's blog - the header? the masthead? Whatever it is, what a lovely old card on yours.
Thanks for sharing...
I'll look forward to seeing that journal when you are finished. Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comments. I'm adding my name to your followers. Linda
ReplyDeleteSo happy to meet you and tickled that you are now following me. I am following you as well, as everything looks so nice here. Love the journal book you are working on for your class. The hunt and collecting is part of the fun isn't it. So, be seeing you!
ReplyDeleteI saw where you posted on Jan's blog you are on the waiting list for a wire-haired fox terrier. I had one named Scooter before coming to Kuwait. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do was put Scooter on a plane to go live with my girlfriend in Dallas. She thought she would only be keeping him a couple of years, because I thought I would only be gone that long. She wound up having him for 12 years and he died at the age of 15 several years ago. He was the sweetest dog. And the only other dog I had after Toni (who I had from the age of 2 until I was 17).
ReplyDeleteYour journal is fat and fabulous -- I love journals that are so full of texture and bits and pieces of this and that and everything. Lovely! Best wishes for your weekend. :) Tammy

I never thought I'd say this, but I"m ready to make an altered book of all of my dear Paris treasures. I have a lady in Cincinnati that at age 90 had made me a Paris book I'll treasure. No I"ve just got to find a way to make my own.
ReplyDeleteI 've only been home since Friday and I'm already longing to return. Paris steals your heart you know.

Oh thank you so very much for paying my blog a visit - I wish I knew of you when we visited Auckland a while back.
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of this course you are on - I think I will check it out
I will follow you with great interest
Off to look at the rest of your blog
Trying to play catch up on my blog reading -- I see you've caught the journal fever too. My problem is the discipline to create daily:) Before I know it, I've got a week's worth of catching up to do in my journal! [I think I see a pattern here!ha!] Right now I'm focusing on the physical/exercise stuff -- maybe one focusing simply on beauty would be easier for me to get into the daily rhythm of working on. I love the bits of lace popping out on yours.
ReplyDeleteOOOOHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! this is exciting!
ReplyDeletei love to see a work in progress! and all of your collected filler items look tantalizing to me!
you will absolutely adore the sewing stage! i always get such a thrill from sewing pretty lace trims and ribbons onto paper! lol I don't have a clue why! it's just fun!
can't wait to see the end result!
ciao bella
