I think we all enjoy reading a new magazine
while sipping tea or coffee
during our break from domestic duties!
Lorrie who blogs at one of my favourite blogs
organised a magazine swap - now that was music to my ears!
Living as I do in a far away land, New Zealand,
I don't have the wide selection of magazines that my blogging pals
in Europe, the UK, Canada and the United States have.
Merci Lorrie!
Lorrie partnered me with Deborah
please visit her inspiring blog
You can see from the first photo the collection
They are sitting on my bedside table
and each night I read one before I float off to sleep
to dream of gracious homes, monograms, beautiful gardens
and inspiring food!
thank you
Deborah
you have given me so much more than a parcel of magazines
you have given me the
inspiration
you have given me the

lying forgotten at the back of the pot cupboard!

Gosh Shane, what a beautiful selection of magazines. And what a great idea - a magazine swap. I just love picking up a good magazine with my cuppa - its like a treat to yourself. You can lose yourself for awhile swooning over the beautiful pics. Have a lovely weekend my friend x0x
ReplyDeleteWonderful inspirations, dear Shane,
ReplyDeletehave a lovely weekend,
Love and hugs,

Hello Shane. What a lovely idea to swap magazines, I'm sure you and Deborah will enjoy reading different magazines. I know I do when I visit Denmark I love reading ( more like looking at the pictures ) That's when the dictionary comes in handy, You've shared some lovely collage photos. Our gardens are coming to life, and yours will be shutting down to over winter soon. But I'm sure your winters are not too cold ?? Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I always used to get Cuisine and House and Garden but haven't subscribed since my move to Whangarei.
ReplyDeleteSwapping like that sounds great.
Such a great idea for a swap! Those look so inspirational!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to be visiting France soon!
Best wishes
Christine
Swaps of all kinds are so much fun. Good friends, even blogger friends, are a treasure.
ReplyDeleteI love Victoria and their related magazines like Romantic Home. I just find that style to be so elegant, and relaxing when perused with a nice cuppa! Thanks for the reminder, I need to dig out my Victoria books!
ReplyDeleteThe Victoria magazine is definitely a favourite of mine...
ReplyDeletebeauty from cover to cover. I was so happy when they started to publish it again.
A wonderful swap idea.
Lovely pics, too.
Enjoy!
I know you are loving those mags. Shane and, on visiting Deborah, she too is thrilled with her parcel from NZ. On my upcoming trip I must try to get to newsstands on the shore excursions to shop for some new mags. - I love seeing what's being shown in different countries.
ReplyDeleteBusy time here - and everywhere is looking awesome as Spring has truly sprung at last!
Love and hugs - Mary
Shane, The Victoria magazine is a wonderful gift, they are so lovely, and filled with old time beauty- I love them ,too-
ReplyDeleteHere we also can`t buy them anymore, but I have a huge stach from years ago, which I still haven`t thrown out !!
Hugs from Dorthe
Oh, a trip to France to look forward to! How wonderful. And those vintage monogrammed linens are gorgeous! I longingly look at them every once in a while on etsy or eBay. Hope you find some!
ReplyDeleteAnd crepes, yummy, how can you go wrong?!
You got some great magazines, I know you are enjoying them. When you get to France I hope you find the things you are looking for. A great post. Have a blessed day. Madeline

What a fun swap! It's funny how we tend to covet the magazines that 'come from away' isn't it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for a swap - it sure looks like you will enjoy your new magazines, and have made a new friend in the process :-) In this day of computers and everything online, I still love a curl up with a good magazine!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely of Lorrie to organize a magazine swap. Fun! I do still love to flip through them and look at all the pretty pictures. We can't get very many decent ones here because of censorship. And no one seems to care about craft magazines. So many to be found in the States (and a good variety in Dubai so I pick some up whenever we head that way). Have a great weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteDearest Shane,
ReplyDeleteCongrats with your lovely assortment of magazines in this swap.
Yes, you can start looking forward to the next visit to France.
Enjoy all your plans and reading these fabulous magazines.
Hugs,
Mariette
It was a pleasure to organize the magazine swap, Shane, and I hope to do it again, maybe late summer/winter(for you) early fall/spring. I love reading magazines from other places, too.
ReplyDeleteGlad your lovely parcel arrived safely!
Hello Shane! Thank you so much for visiting me and my blog today. It's so nice to meet new bloggers. Yours is just lovely. We had a chance to visit Paris while we lived in England, and we fell in love with it, too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Diana
You definitely received some of the Best magazines! I hope you enjoy them and are inspired by them as well! What a fun swap! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteHello dear Shane! Oh my goodness...those look like such amazing and inspiring magazines...I love settling down with a good cuppa and mag and resting a bit after all my household chores are done...bliss!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to do a magazine swap - I think it is such a fun idea:)
Sending you a big hug today!
Love,
Kelly-Anne

ReplyDeleteHello Shane,
ReplyDeleteWow what a fun idea to be in a magazine swap! What lovely magazines you have and have a wonderful time reading and looking at them. Hope you have a nice week.

I love the idea of a magazine swap, Shane -- and how fun to see publications from all over the world. When I travel, I always buy at least a couple of magazines even if I can't read the language. Heavy in the luggage, easy on the eyes!
ReplyDeleteYour new magazines should keep you busy for a while Shane - enjoy every page!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.
Wonderful eye candy! Is there anything nicer than a package in the mail?

What a fun exchange. I have a magazine addiction and you got some beautiful ones. Yes! Monograms bed linens, oh I love mine. I found to bed sheet with my actual initials on them when we were in France the last time. It is all we sleep under and then each week they hang on my line to dry.
ReplyDeleteHello sweet friend! I am always thrilled to see you at Roses of Inspiration and I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your loveliness with us.
ReplyDeleteMay you have a beautiful weekend, dear Shane! Love to you!
Oh your post has me dreaming of beautiful peaceful things. Thank you it is just what I needed after such a busy week.
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely idea magazine swapping. I think we are getting more and more lovely magazines here in N.Z.I have just come across a beautiful UK magazine called Daphne's Diary. It is lovely reading and some handmaking projects in it that are so tasteful. I take a couple of days to absorb it all in.The colouring and quality of the paper is gorgeous. It is so lovely to read your peaceful blog Shane. Shirley
ReplyDeleteShane I've just found you through Faye at The Blessed Hearth. Your blog is beautiful...I'm a new follower. Mimi xxx
