Hello Shane, Loved seeing your pictures of your gifts for your family in France. I have the same idea as you I'm taking a Brownie cake in a jar. We are off to Denmark to spend Christmas with our son and his family. I love the Danish festive traditions I'm looking forward so much to visiting again. with all my back problems this past year it's a long time since we were there.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great gift idea; would you share the recipe and method for assembling the jar?
ReplyDeleteHow exciting when that parcel arrives at its destination! Wishing you a wonderful week as we look forward to Christmas!

ReplyDeleteSo fun, Shane. And I'm loving all of your red and white ornaments! Looks yum!
ReplyDeleteChristmas parcels must be mailed so early. I'm working on one, too, but it doesn't have to go nearly so far. The Christmas slice in a jar sounds like a tasty gift. Have a great week, Shane.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lorrie
I've been keeping my eye on the cut-off postage dates as well... don't they sneak up fast! Love the idea of the Christmas slice in a jar... where can I go to find the ingredients you've put in it? Happy Summer!!
ReplyDeleteOoh - can we know what is in the jar. It looks so good and the instructions are simple.

Hello Shane, I agree with you .. I dont know where November went to. I love that idea for a christmas slice in a jar ... Looks beautiful too, such an attactive appealing gift.
ReplyDeleteThe family in France will love the contents in your Christmas parcel, Shane. So far the only preparations I've done for Christmas is to send off cards and gifts to family abroad. It's a good feeling when they get sent. There's so much love and thought that goes into each one.
ReplyDeleteDear Shane, have a lovely time in France. It must be wonderful to hug your loved ones. Groetjes, Hetty
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely, Christmassy post and a great gift idea!
ReplyDeleteHave a joyful Advent, dear Shane!

ReplyDeleteHere time is running so fast ,too- and all the cards and gifties for family and friends, must also very soon be on their way !!
Hugs from Dorthe and enjoy December.
I remember making something in a jar for hostess gifts back when I was young and crafty. :-) This would never go out of style though and would be perfect for a couple celebrating their first Christmas together.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Shane.
Enjoy your week!
A lovely gift, Shane! Pretty little Christmas decorations, too. Time moves too quickly for me, too. Hugs xo Karen
ReplyDeleteI am sure that the contents of your parcel will be greatly enjoyed!! I hope you have a great December. xx
ReplyDeleteHi Shane, I too will be making jar cookies for friends this Christmas. It's a fun thing to make, and truly enjoyed by the recipient!
ReplyDeleteI've done different variations on the gifts in a jar theme over the years too. They make really nice (and cheap to make) gifts.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift idea!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing your preparations for the upcoming Christmas season.
ReplyDeleteI came across a recipe years ago for brownie bars in a jar and made them one Christmas for friends. No one had ever seen them before and they were a huge hit. The recipe I found became our default brownie recipe. I add in a layer of dried cranberries to make them look even more festive. I have also given homemade muesli in jars as gifts, again with cranberries or goji berries for colour and a brown card tag with red ribbon, a cinnamon stick and sprig of greenery for a festive trim. The other gift in a jar which has been well received is chai tea. The Bonne Maman jars are perfect for this and are my excuse for buying the jam!
ReplyDeleteCan you tell I used to run Christmas decorating seminars? I loved finding ideas for gifts and sharing them with the ladies that came out to my home but now Pinterest has taken over the world I'm not sure there is a need for them. My tree is up but I have not gone overboard this year... I do intend to fill my home with fresh greenery on Christmas Eve though as we have a tall conifer that must be trimmed and I intend to set a beautiful table with vintage china. I have a lady that is hiring our china, cutlery and glassware for her Christmas table and I have a high tea booking this weekend. If I do not stop by again before Christmas I pray your Christmas is a beautiful and blessed one. I still read your posts and have not forgotten you and you do know I intend to visit you one day - we are bound to take a trip to NZ sooner or later! My daughter is off to the States in May and meeting another of my blogger friends who is hosting her for 3 days in Missouri. I am so jealous!
What a lovely gift idea, Shane, which I have never seen before. I love it, and the recipient will too. I'm off to Google it now :) xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous present and a great idea. Only 3 weeks to go
ReplyDeleteYou just answered a question I was afraid to ask... if all those items went on to a bowl together? I'm new to this Gift Jars so I was thinking how did the perople who received the gift divided the items. No need - check.
ReplyDeleteThank you and Keep enjoying Time and The Season.
Yours,
Teresa
I love all things Christmas!! Only 22 more days :)
ReplyDeleteThose will make lovely gifts ... and the jar a nice keeper when empty. Very festive ideas!
