Yes, Venice is on my wish list too - missed visiting when in italy a few years back. The beauty of the buildings and colors must be awesome, I know my camera would be clicking constantly. Some day!
ReplyDeleteThe pics are gorgeous - looks like one of the Cunard Line "Queens" in the first pic Shane - I'm very excited to be sailing on one next year, but not close to Venice!
I bet you still enjoyed Valentine's day even though far from Italy - and there's always another time for you lovebirds to take a gondola ride - hope you get there soon!
Hugs - Mary
Hi Shane,
ReplyDeleteI have been to Venice. A most beautiful and unique city. I was a young person and couldn't afford the gondola rides but I loved the Italian lifestyle and the food. Being able to have a coffee late at night at a pavement cafe was wonderful. The beaches were very crowded though and there were many sections owned by hotels that you could not enter. I have just returned from our holiday in New Zealand - and yes you turned on the weather for us! It felt more like Australian weather - so humid. We spent all our time at the Coromandel and our family from Auckland visited us at the beach. We visited what I believe has to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.... so different to those Italian beaches! It was just breathtaking, so relaxing and my family loved every moment. It was wonderful to have family reunions and I wish you a wonderful time with your family when they arrive.
Fabulous post Shane, Venice is one of my favourite cities and I would love to visit for a second time.
ReplyDeleteA tres bientot,

Anywhere in Italy would be my dream location.....or alternatively, our fab Adelaide Hills!!! TK xx
ReplyDeletethinking of you and yours dear Shane

I heard the terrible news on awaking in San Francisco last weekend. Altho' I'm certain you are safe, being far removed from Christchurch, but perhaps you have family and friends there. My thoughts and prayers go out to all New Zealanders, no matter where, because your beautiful country has been so badly scarred by the forces of Nature. Prayers are especially directed to those still hurt and waiting to heal, and to the many people who did lose loved ones as the city crumbled around them.
ReplyDeleteShane, you are in my thoughts and hopefully you will post again soon.
Hugs - Mary
Venice is a spot I've not been but look forward to discovering someday. I think I need to go back to Paris, first!
ReplyDeleteHope all is well dear - missing your posts.
