with our daughter and per family
at Le Lavandou on the Cote d'Azur.
at Le Lavandou on the Cote d'Azur.
I'm told this is where many french families holiday.
Le Lavandou had a wonderful atmosphere,
great beaches, shops, restaurants and markets.
Each evening we drove in to Le Lavandou
for our promenade along the walkway near the beach.
Each evening there were people building sandcastles
works of art in sand
the children loved watching the artists
Jean Blanc beach
which was 2 minutes from the villa.
As with many of the Mediterranean beaches,
we climbed 90 something steps down to the sandy bay
the hard part was climbing back up at the end of the day!!
But it was well worth it.

At Cap Negre just a short boat ride away
the french President Nicholas Sarkosy
and his wife Carla Bruni
were holidaying at her family holiday estate.
We could just see a beautiful villa
peeking out of the trees at the end of the point.

On a day trip to St Tropez we drove past the turn-off
which was heavily guarded by the Gendarmerie.
Very exciting for the visitors from Auckland, New Zealand!!

Hello! Just arrived at our hotel and fired up the computer to see who had visited today. You are living in one of the cities that I ADORE. I made a dear friend from Auckland when she and her family were living in the States. Our girls were just babies then...and are now 15. Since that time they have been back to the USA to visit twice and I flew there once with my daughter. LOVELY people and BEAUTIFUL place!
ReplyDeleteNow, Le Lavandou....BREATHTAKING! Isn't it wonderful to be able to take holidays as an extended family? We do that with my folks, as well. Very nice to meet you and I hope you will come back to visit! xx P&H

We love the Var and it's not too touristy, still mainly the French.

Hope your weekend was nice and that New Zealand isn't too cold. Sydney has really started to sink deeply into Autumn now after having had an unusually warm past few weeks. 3 weeks till Winter - I can't believe this year is half gone already!!
Big Swedish hug and thanks again! :)
