Daffodils - it must be Spring!

1st September in my neck of the woods
heralds the start of

SPRING

The fruit trees are clothed in glorious blossom
deciduous trees are bursting into leaf
spring bulbs are in bloom
Spring is an awakening
a sign of new life
and new beginnings

After the grey and dreary months of Winter
we welcome the arrival of this new season!

We have turned the corner...
and I am happy to say
"au revoir August"
until we meet again next year...
God willing!

Wishing you all a happy weekend

I'm joining Trishie for Floral Friday

Gathering the Moments - August 2014

August was a very busy month working....
but a quiet one in other ways
with some enjoyable weekend moments to remember.
We had some of our coldest winter days
so there were many weekend days
staying at home and keeping warm
and enjoying hot soups and hearty casseroles!

A special photo arrived from my family in France
lighting candles for us in Church.

We enjoyed several meals with friends
to watch the All Black vs The Wallabies
Bledisloe Cup rugby games.
Yea!!! The New Zealand All Blacks have retained the cup
for the 12th year in a row!
We're so proud of our team!

For a long time now I've been interested in
patchwork and quilting.
This month I had my first class
with Robyn the owner of Patchwork Passion.
Now I'm hooked on English Paper Piecing!

I'm joining Cheryl of Thinking about Home for

Thinking About Home

Thank you Cheryl for hosting
I always look forward to seeing what you
and others have been up to during the month.
I'm sorry I'm arriving late to your party.

Thank you to my dear friends who visit
I'm trying to visit you over the week.

Take care and
be kind to one another

Merci à bientôt

Delft Blue Miniatures

I have a a small collection of Delft Blue
miniature dutch houses
sitting on the window sill on the staircase landing.

KLM Dutch Airline gave these as gifts on international flights.
I love the architecture of these beautiful old houses,
the detail is wonderful.

Underneath the markings are
Blue Delft's
exclusively made
for KLM by
BOLS
Amsterdam 1575.
Bols is an alcoholic distillery and claims to be
the oldest distillery brand in the world!
(I should have photographed the underneath - I know)
Maybe my friend Madelief can tell us more about it!

I'm joining Judith for Mosaic Monday
we would love you to join in with your mosaic photos.
I used the online photo editor Be Funky
http://www.befunky.com/

Thank you all for your visits and comments
Take care and
be kind to one another

Merci à bientôt
