Blue cows in Morrinsville

On my recent trip to the farms down country
I photographed the cow sculptures
as we passed through Morrinsville.

I saved the blue cow to share with
Jeanne who hosts Blue Monday
and my friends
who participate with their 'blue' posts.

I've named her Rosie
and she is part of a Street Art Exhibition called
"Herd of Cows?"

It celebrates the heritage of  dairying
as well as the growing art culture
in Morrinsville!

I snapped this photo of a milk tanker
as it left the farm
after collecting milk from the large vat.

I'm joining Jeanne for Blue Monday
Why don't you join us with your "blues"!

Take care and
be kind to one another

à bientôt

Shane

  3. This is quite a romantic, sweet (almost cute) looking cow. Most unusual for such a large animal.

  10. What a beautiful piece of art, and such a pretty cow. I see why you aptly named her Rosie. I have a collection of hand painted cow creamers, and appreciate both the animals and the decoration.
Have a good and happy week!:)

  13. Love the blue cow! I was in NYC the summer thay had their Parade of Cows. It's a fun art form. Here in Austin they did the same type of event using guitars to honor the music scene. I think it lends itself more to the cow. '-)

  15. That's one pretty blue cow! Toronto did the same thing with moose a few years back. There were some really interesting concepts that came out of that. When I visited my brother in Victoria, BC, they have a permanent collection of orcas painted up the same way. Now they were really something to see! Have a great week!

  19. Hello Shane, I love cows in general and live where they graze and have calves etc. (We lived on a dairy farm in MI when I was a young girl) We love our mountains and where we live now in the rural country. Your post is so cute with the painted cow. What could be better for Blue Monday.

Thank you for your sweet comment and joining in the Blue Monday fun.
    Hugs,
    Jeanne

  20. I must say, Shane, the cows in my region aren't nearly as colourful! It would have been fun to stumble across this beauty. You asked about Mya; she is still here, an indoor cat. Lovely girl.
