Pastoral scenes New Zealand

I snapped these pics on a recent road trip
as we drove along the highway
hence the lack of detail.

New Zealand is green most of the year.

On our trip to Ireland last year
I noticed the similarities in the landscape.
True there were not as many sheep in Ireland
but the rolling hills were a familiar sight

I'm joining Eileen for Saturday Critters

Thank you all for your visits.

Take care and
be kind to one another

à bientôt

Shane

  1. It looks like Ireland and parts of Scotland too. Maybe this is why so many Scots and Irish felt at home when they emigrated.
Thanks for sharing - enjoy your weekend!

  10. Yes indeed, the landscape looks in a way the similar to the Scottish landscape, but New Zealand has such a variety of landscapes and natural beauty on a relatively small 'island' I have not seen on any place in the world.
Love the rolling hills and of course sheep!

  17. Oh Shane, such lovely countryside you have there in New Zealand!! We've seen all the "Lord of the Rings" movies -- we're big fans of the books and movies here. That was my introduction to the beauty of New Zealand. :) Thanks for sharing the pretty pictures -- hope you have a great weekend!

    Hugs,

    Denise

  18. I'm struck by the similarities between these photos and ones I've taken here. Metchosin, just outside Victoria, is known for sheep raising and at this time of year the oaks are just leafing out and the fields are brilliant green. Beautiful!

  22. Such amazing shades of green! Weather is finally warming up somewhat here so soon our fields will be green too. I love all the different shades of green that we have in the spring.
