Goats in Moulin en Tan France

More pics from our afternoon with the girls at
Moulin en Tan.
The day was hot - the temperature was in the high 30's.

The goats seemed quite happy lazing in the sunshine
showing no interest in climbing posts this day!

The two white doves showed more sense
resting in the shade of the tree.

Parc Moulin en Tan - France

Another excursion in France was a family visit to
Parc Moulin en Tan,
it is a real favourite for the girls
as there is so much to see.

This time I'm sharing photos of some of the bird life on the
River Vanne which runs through the 15 hectares
of park land.

It was an extremely hot day
so we enjoyed staying under the shade of the trees
to try and keep cool!

Nemours village in France

Day trips are always on our agenda when in France.
This time we visited the charming town of
Nemours.

We enjoyed our picnic lunch
on the banks of the Loing river
just below the Chateau de Nemours
which you can see in the above photo - lower right.

We want the girls to enjoy these day trips too,
so it is important for them to stretch their legs after
being in the car for an hour or more - hence the picnic!
After eating they enjoyed running along the river bank
and feeding the ducks with our leftovers!

We then wandered over to see the 17th century Chateau
and stepped inside it's medieval world.
Like all castles of long ago, the rooms were large
with high vaulted ceilings, twisting stone stairways
and enormous heavy arched doorways.
It was sparsely decorated without the usual
rich wall tapestries and rugs on the floors.

The temperature inside the Chateau was cold
 even though
outside it was 36°C (98°F)

We warmed up once we stepped outside into the sunshine
and walked through the town centre.

We enjoyed our day in Nemours, and marvelled at the
feast of medieval buildings and monuments
that were built centuries ago.
It's well worth a visit if you should be in the area!
There's even a tea salon
which I will post about soon!

Beautiful memories of our France sojourn 2015...

Stella our middle granddaughter
celebrated her First Communion in the
12th century Cathédrale Saint-Étienne de Sens.

It was a beautiful ceremony full of old french traditions.

Over the two years since our last visit
Sens Cathedral has had a major restoration.
The exterior of the building has been cleaned
and now highlights the magnificent
Parisian limestone used in construction
during the 12th century.

Following the communion ceremony
we had an enjoyable family lunch at
an old restaurant on the Vanne river.

The girls end of year ballet spectacular
took place in the performing arts theatre.
The two older girls have been learning ballet at the
Conservatoire de Sens for four years,
Jessie 3½ years will start when she turns 4 in January!

As you can see she already has her outfit and ballet slippers!

These were some of the highlights from our France visit!
I'm now back on track, it has taken me a while
to get motivated since arriving home.
I always find it hard leaving my daughter and her family,
the separation leaves a huge hole in my heart....
If you're a regular reader of my blog
I'm sure you have read these words before
and will understand!
I know with Skype I can see their little faces
but nothing beats a real ((hug)).
I'm now back visiting your blogs and catching up on
what you've all been up to!
