Snowball - our gorgeous feline visitor...

In the last post I told you all about my best friend visiting
we've had another VIP staying for the last three weeks
her name is Snowball - Snow for short.

As you can see she is a beauty with jet black fur
and emerald green eyes!

She has been confined to the house until this weekend
when we let her roam outside for short stints
she was in 'cat heaven', sniffing and looking at everything,
not a single leaf went unnoticed!
Karen, I thought you would appreciate seeing
some photos of Snow - you can show them to Cameo!

Snow belongs to our son and has been living in the
maize paddock, hunting day and night.
She isn't the friendliest girl in the world, however
she is gradually learning to trust us.
Sadly Snow and our son are moving to Melbourne soon
and we will miss them both dearly.

I've enjoyed Snow's company and antics
while she has been with us...
she waits on the stairs for me every morning, and
YES
she has wormed her way into my heart.
c'est la vie!

This morning I had a little wander around the garden
and took some photos - it was sunny but it's quite hard
to see in these photos - apart from the pansies!

I'm joining Karen for Sunlit Sunday
and
Judith for Mosaic Monday
Thank you both for hosting these parties!

Welcome to my new followers and
thank you all for your comments,
I'll be catching up on your blogs this week!

Take care and
be kind to one another

Merci à bientôt

Shane

  1. This reminds me of the black cat that my daughter rescued last summer. She called it "Sunny" as we were in the middle of a heatwave at the time. Oh, well...

  8. I love that her name is Snowball although she is as far from the color of snow as possible. lol

It is hard to get attached and then lose a fur baby. Hope you have a wonderful day- xo Diana

  9. How cute to give the black kitty the name Snowball!!!! She is lovely and I know must be finding your beautiful garden an exciting new place to investigate.

Hope your son enjoys life in Melbourne - I was just reading an article about that cosmopolitan city - it sounds like a good place to live - but very different from the countryside perhaps!

Hope your weekend was fun. We are actually, at long last, having some slightly warmer days. Heading out to the garden later and will clean up the branches, damaged shrubs etc. that came down in the ice storm last week! Such a lot of work and I'm not up to bending much these days - Bob says I can point and he will bend, ha ha! What would I do without him?

    Love you, Mary

  19. What a beautiful cat!
And the verse I remember from my childhood, it has a German Transation:
"Pussycat, Pussycat, wo hin willst du gehn?
Ich will nach London, die Königin sehn.
Pussycat, Pussycat, was willst du von ihr?
Unterm Thron sitzt ein Mäuslein, das fange ich mir."
We had it in a beloved book.
    Have a nice new week

  22. What a pretty kitty. That's cute calling her Snowball! I still have my daughters cat since she went to college and couldn't have her. That was 8 years ago! My son lives 2400 miles away now- too far!

  23. I hope your son has checked thoroughly that he really is permitted to take his cat to Melbourne. Does he have all Snowball's papers? Customs and Immigration can be quite nasty sometimes. And not all rental accommodation allows pets. All the best, but check twice and move once.

  27. Dearest Shane,
That will be tough if both your son and Snowball move out and away... Life is never easy!

  28. Lovely. Feline though... she looks a Queen that likes to be treated like one. I guess it comes from the fact that she's loved and cared by your son ahahah
Sorry to read they're moving away so these moments are even more precious because they become engraved in the hearts.
    Take Care,
    Teresa

  34. The comment box wouldn't open for me earlier but I made it this time. Snowball sounds like a cute kitty to have around, too bad you couldn't take Cameo from Karen for yourself!
We have a beautiful sunny day with milder temps today, spring is inching its way here.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Shane.

  35. Love the wander in your garden and meeting Snowball. How ever did Snowball get his name when he is totally black. Must have been tongue in cheek. Cute!

  36. Snowball looks like she might have been rolling in the soot! I wonder, too, how she got her name. She's a beautiful kitty.

  40. Oh, so sad that Snow will be leaving soon and taking your dear son with him. My son has an exact replica of Snow, named Lucky, and he is also very reserved and inclined to be ill-tempered around 'others'. He is only loving to my son and his wife. I took care of him once and he boxed me good around the ears when I had the audacity to pick him up! Lol! I hope that you get to visit Snow and Son often. Hugs xo K
