Sunshine makes me happy

I captured these photos
of sunshine on my windowsill.
Recently I bought some new
bathroom things so I wanted to show you those too!
I thought the sun shining through the window
would make a good background!

When I visited my Aunt at New Year
I was very taken with one of her
Christmas gifts.

A light room fragrance of
Frangipani and Lime
which is perfect for our Summer days
and it is Made in New Zealand.
I decided to treat myself to one too!

As I'm reading your blog posts
and seeing the snow lying on the ground
I wanted to share a little of our
New Zealand sunshine with you!

We are having the most wonderful

Summer

Then I found myself humming
'Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy'
as I wrote this post,
so... I popped over to YouTube
and downloaded the video for you.

It's not compulsory listening if you're
not a John Denver fan!

I couldn't resist giving you a few more photos
of my Pierre de Ronsard rose.
I'm 'over the moon' with everything about this rose
it is a prolific bloomer

A Star

and that's after just one year in the garden.
I recommend it to anyone looking for a
new pink rose.

I'm joining Karen for Sunlit Sunday
and
Judith for Mosaic Monday
and
Stephanie for Roses of Inspiration

Thank you for your comments
Take care and
be kind to one another

Merci à bientôt

Shane

  2. Hello Shane, thanks for sharing some of your sunshine through such lovely pictures you have taken. Your rose is truly beautiful, I've made a note of that one. I see you are joining on Grow your Blog again and offering your help. That was how we met. Such an enjoyable way to meet new friends. Yes some fall by the way as they say, but the true ones remain. Enjoy your weekend.I'm hoping we may get some sunshine, it's looking a bit grey at the moment.

  3. I love the effect of the sunshine coming through the glass tiles, it looks gorgeous. Ah, and those roses, they are so beautiful. I must get one this year for our garden in France. I hope it will cope with the poor soil on our hill top.

  8. Bright and beautiful sunshine! Thank you, Shane, for such an uplifting post. The fresh and floral loveliness of frangipani flowers is one of my absolute favourites! We have planted our second frangipani tree in the front of the house, (the first was probably over watered my moi, and didn't survive all that TLC), and I hope this one flourishes. This past summer, it gifted us with several sweet blooms and the most lovely scent!

    Enjoy your aromatic ambiance!

    Happy weekend!

    Hugs,
    Poppy

  30. Shane, I have a Pierre de Ronsard trained to grow up a wall in our garden. I love it to bits and am always sad if the flowers don't open fully due to the weight, yours look even lovelier as a mosaic.
    Have a wonderful week.

  31. Hi Shane,

Thank you for the warmth you send us. We can use it in Holland. It's really wintry overhere. Some parts of our county are even covered in snow, but Rotterdam is greay and rainy!

Your new bathroom bottles look attractive. Wish you could send the smell my way :-)

    Happy week!

  36. Dear Shane - love your sunshine post...it is a sight for sore winter eyes. For the most part it is rather cloudy here so what a treat to see your summer sun - just love those beautiful roses too. I can smell them blooming. John Denver was a very favorite artist of mine. I happen to have that song and do play it often. Thanks for reminding me that there is sunny days out there! Hugs

  37. Lovely photos. We can always use a spot of sunshine here in the northern hemisphere as we plod through winter. Interesting, too, is your John Denver reference, a second one this week. The other came from England in regards to last post. He was one of my favorite singers and with a strong Colorado connections.

  38. Dear Shane,

your sunny photos light up this frosty day. The sunlight shines through the glass with a special glow, like a reflection on water.Let me say it in John Denvers words..you fill up my senses, like a night in the forest, like the mountains in springtime, like a walk in the rain, like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean....
    Thank you. Luv Babs

Thank you for the comment on my "lovely" post. I know what you mean about the reality shows. I was thinking the same thing when I wrote the post haha.

I hope the new year is being good to you.
