The Winter-less North

We've had four wonderful days in
the Bay of Islands
also known as the "winter-less north" of
New Zealand.

The days were warm and still
and the evenings quite cool.
As you can see roses are still in bloom
but so are the camellias
and the sweetly fragrant earlicheer daffodil!

The poor flowers aren't sure if it is
winter, spring or summer!

I've shown you lots of images of Russell before.
Top right of this mosaic is the Soren Larsen
a brigantine tallship used as a sail training ship,
brave young people atop the mast
learning the finer points of sailing.

I'm joining Mary for Mosaic Monday

Wishing you all a happy new week
I'm feel re-energised and ready
for another three days at work!

Take care and

be kind to one another

  Merci à bientôt

Shane x

  8. Your title "The Winter-less North" sounds like an oxymoron to me who lives in the northern hemisphere. Kind of brain twisting. But fun. Gorgeous roses, still. Glad you enjoyed your getaway. Have a wonderful week, Shane.

  21. Shane, is it winterless because of geography or are you having a very light winter? I'm not terribly familiar with the geography where you are -- but the photos are lovely!

  24. Such beautiful images. I love the gorgeous flowers and garden. Be still my heart because I adore flowers. New Zealand is a lovely country that I hope to see someday, however, the long flight there from here gives me pause. We meet two couples from New Zealand last September on a tour of Italy and they were delightful.

Thank you for your very sweet comments on my grandchildren and hydrangea posts. I am so glad to meet you. I am impressed with your tag blog! You are very creative. I didn't get that gene.
    Have a great week.

  29. "Winter" doesn't look so bad there Shane - glad you had lovely days for your getaway.

I'm back now and trying hard to get back in the groove of everyday living. I'm thinking of getting a job at sea, I love it so much, haha!!!!!! Of course I'll stay away from tall ships, don't think I'd do well on the rigging!

Happy weekend - we're just off the edge of the big hurricane "Arthur" racing up the east coast - some wind but not too bad here.

    Hugs - Mary
