Fresh Cut Flowers

My roses are almost finished for the season
last week I picked the last
little spray of flowers of 'The Fairy'.
She has bloomed her little heart out all summer long
thank you dear Fairy!

The white rose is 'Iceberg'
it does very well in Auckland
and blooms from November to May.
I've got six bushes in one bed
and they have put on a good show for months.

I will prune and feed them in early June
and put them to bed for the winter.

I'm joining Liz for Fresh Cut Friday
and
Mary for Mosaic Monday

Take care and

be kind to one another

  Merci à bientôt

Shane x

  2. Such a beautiful post Shane and such beautiful roses. The Fairy rose is a tough one indeed and dries well also.
It's always hard to see the last of the roses isn't it!
I always dry a few to keep me company until we meet again in Spring!
    Have a great week ahead!

We have The Fairy rose too and are just now watching as she is greening up to begin her parade of blooms here in Virginia...
it never ceases to amaze me how bare branches can turn green...set buds and bloom so gloriously...
    ahh nature !!!
    Happy May to you...

  8. Dearest Shane,
One can sense some melancholic undertone for having to say goodbye for another year to those lovely roses... To me they are the best reward coming from our gardens. We too have had Iceberg roses but lost them due to two summers of extreme drought. It hurts for having to loose most of your precious roses...
Thank you for sharing yours with us!
Hugs to you and happy new week.

  13. Your roses are just ending and yesterday I saw the first one of mine bloom. The white Iceberg roses are really stunning.
Do you have trouble with black spot there, or are you dry enough that it doesn't take hold?
    Have a wonderful week Shane.

  20. Your roses are beautiful! I have one ice berg and it is in bloom now. My bed of red Knockout roses was flush with color until this week, but all are now fading. Same with my yellow rose. It's just spring here in TX, so they will flush out again and again through the summer.
Thanks for visiting and following along at Hyacinths for the Soul. Welcome! I'm happy to find your beautiful blog and have added you to my sidebar. I look forward to more visits.

  22. Shane, my dear, how sweet of you to come for a visit and leave such nice words! I hope you are well and fine, but I believe you must be in such a wonderland of roses. I come and visit you here frequently, but very often, I do not find the time to say hello... But I am happy to have seen you today and I wish you a merry and peaceful week! Hugs, Manu
