Colourful Photo Challenge - May

I used Pixlr and BeFunky to boost saturation and blur the edges.

May's Personal Photo Challenge topic
set by Donna is
COLOURFUL

If you would like to join in
please visit Donna's blog here for her tips and suggestions!

Our embroidery group had a special lunch
at a French cafe on Tuesday
to celebrate Rosie's significant birthday!
I mentioned to the girls that I hoped to find
something colorful to photograph that day!
When I saw these brilliant red cakes I knew this
was the photo op I was waiting for!

I took this photo of my granddaughter at Château de Fontainebleau last year.

This was taken last year in France too - in a wheat field in mid Summer.

I use a basic “Point and Shoot”

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3 with a Leica lens.

I followed Donna's suggestion and
edited each photo to adjust the colour saturation,
vibrance and contrast.

Do pop over and see what everyone else
comes up with here!

Thank you Donna for continuing to
inspire me to think about what I am
seeing through the lens before I click!!

Wishing you all a happy weekend!

a little reminder.....
Kerrie's beautiful Giveaway
closes tomorrow 10 May
so hop over to her blog here
to be in the draw.
Bonne chance!

Take care and be kind to each other

Merci à bientôt

Shane

  4. Gorgeous! The shine on the photos is just beautiful. My favorite, I think probably yours, too, is the little girl with the bright pink coat skipping up the stairs to the grand Chateau. Lovely, lovely editing!

  10. Although the red cakes look pretty enticing, my favourite is the red flowers in the wheat field.
Of course your granddaughter in the distance with her hot pink coat needs to be mentioned too!

  12. These are all beautiful photos, Shane. I love the red cake, but my favorite is your granddaughter at Fontainebleu. It looks like a still from a movie. The modern pink against the old weathered stone building is striking. All sorts of stories could be imagined with that photo.

  13. Lindas fotos, Shane!
Os vermelhos são "apetitosos" , os amarelos no final são vibrantes mas, a foto da neta é sensacional!
    Parabéns!
    Um abraço!
    Beautiful photos, Shane!
The reds are "appetizing", the yellows at the end are vibrants , the granddaughter photo is phenomenal!
    Congratulations!

  15. It looks like you had fun with the colour assignment, Shane. All of your pictures are beautiful, but I especially like the one of your granddaughter -- the pop of colour against the stone, the youth juxtaposed against the historic chateau.

  24. Don't you just love a pop of red color in the photo? I could dive right into those red-colored cakes, especially after I read the little chalkboard description! That was good to include it in the composition. Adore the granddaughter photo climbing the stairs. I bet it was with exuberance, LOL. Lovely focusing treatment on that one to emphasize the subject. And the "accidental" poppies in the wheat field is a beautiful example of color contrasts, and also tenacity! Wonderful job on the challenge, Shane!
