Summer in the Bay of Islands

During Summer we love to spend time in
Russell in the Bay of Islands.

It's a pretty little seaside village
which until a few years ago was
unknown to the outside world.

Now it is a destination for the many
cruise ships that sail to our waters
from November to April.

I'm linking to
Karen for Sunlit Sunday
and
Mary for Mosaic Monday.
I hope to see you there!

Thank you all for popping in here to say hello.
I will try and visit you during the week
I've got a lot of catching up to do!
I appreciate your thoughtful comments.

Take care and be kind to each other
   Merci à bientôt

Shane

  1. Shane, lovely pics of that special place. Friends in Brisbane have a little country getaway there and always sing the praises of the Bay of Islands. I didn't know cruise ships visited though!

Love the hollyhocks - I'm planning on planting seeds this Spring but of course as they are bi-annual doubt they'll bloom until next year.

Up early this morning awaiting the carpet installers around 9 AM - will be so glad when this day is over!

Happy week dear - Mary X

  6. Hello, Shane

Your collages are beautiful. I love the pink hollyhocks and flowering trees in the first one. I didn't have any of the former bloom in my garden last year and hope they reappear come summertime. Meanwhile, the snow is lingering.

Thanks for bringing a slice of one of your favourite place to Sunlit Sunday.

  14. P.S. I'm so envious of those Hollyhocks! I've never been very successful keeping them in my garden.

  15. I love hollyhocks and the pink ones in the picture are so lovely.

The only area we missed in NZ was the Bay of Islands. We spent too much on the South Island andjust ran out of time. Enjoy it for us.
