Fresh Cut Friday - March

My neighbour across our back fence
has a lovely cottage garden with many roses.
A while ago she gave me a beautiful bunch of
David Austin roses, namely
Leander and Lucetta.

Leander is a luscious rose with delicate apricot petals,
on huge strongly fragrant blooms.

and Lucetta has delicate pink blooms which
are enormous, opulent and fragrant.

If you are looking at buying new roses
for your garden this Spring
I can highly recommend both of these roses
which I am about to order for my garden too!
I like my garden being full of 'picky' things
so that I can always have a bowl of
"fresh cut"
flowers in the house!

Today I'm joining Liz for

Thank you all for your lovely comments on my
last post - I appreciate each one of you.

Wishing you all a happy weekend

Take care and be kind to each other
   merci à bientôt

Shane

  6. They are absolutely stunning Shane. I want a neighbor like your kind one! Are these climbers by chance? I need to plant more climbers on the back fence - I have a New Dawn but it seems to be heading toward its demise, very tiny blooms and nowhere near as prolific as it used to be.

Having bowls of these beauties around must make the house smell and look so lovely.

    Happy weekend dear - Mary

  12. Love the roses Shane, how wonderful to still have such beautiful blooms. The Waikato is not good for roses, we get the nasty fungi spot regardless of spraying. Some seem to be resistant to the disease. David Austens are really superb, I do have a few.Roses and Lavender being my favourite flowers. Have a great weekend. Shirley

  13. Dearest Shane,
What a joy for receiving such lovely David Austin roses from your neighbor!
One can never have too many roses. We used to have plenty of them until we lost most because of severe drought...
    Enjoy your weekend!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  16. Hi Shane!
David Austin roses are the best! These are gorgeous. I cut all of my roses way back about 3 weeks ago and they are just now coming back. But I should have some here in the next couple of weeks. In the mean time I'm going to have to enjoy yours! :)
Thank you for joining in for FCF! :)
    I'm so glad you did!

  21. Loved your roses, what a kind neighbour you have. I too love roses, but since living in France I've not any success growing them here. I tried a few climbers, but only had success with a very thorny type which I've realised I've planted in the wrong place & can't get rid of it I've chopped it down to the ground twice & up it comes again, with even more vigour. A lovely pink one gets eaten by the deer. So maybe it's the thorny ones I need to choose, not a favourite for them. Enjoy the roses in your home.
