  6. I can recall the quiet and beauty from my visits to small old villages in France, when seing your beautiful photoes, dear Shane, and you certainly have visited some wonderful places, with the narrow streets and older buildings, my friend.

  7. Ahhh, yes, the beautiful grays (grey) that you love! I really enjoyed taking a closer look at your photos. I loved seeing the ballet class where one ballerina has such long legs she is having difficulty reaching her toes. Such a sweet photo.

  8. Dearest Shane,
Not only French village greys but it makes one a bit melancholic too; knowing that a daughter and family stayed behind...
    Hugs to you,
    Mariette

  9. Dear Shane,

Beautiful photos of life in a village in France. I loved some of the small villages, even more so in winter where the grey colours were so gorgeous.
Happy weekend, beautiful blue sky today, hope they have it wrong as they are predicting rain for tomorrow.

    hugs
    Carolyn

  13. I do enjoy these gray posts you do. There is such rich variety in the gray tones you display each week, and best of all a warm memory or story behind each one!

  15. How appropriate this post is for me Shane as I was just thinking yesterday that grey may be my new favourite colour. I changed the pleated shades of my bedside lamps from cream to grey as the cream ones kept getting dusty and needing to be cleaned too often. I was in a lovely cafe yesterday admiring their grey armchairs (French style - you would love them) and when we eventually buy new sofas I want them to be grey! I have had a very busy week as I was asked to style a window of a menswear store in Great Gatsby style to promote the mayoral ball. Have never dressed a window in my life but I was able to loan some absolutely amazing pieces from an antique shop (because I asked!)to go with my own accessories and it just all came together wonderfully.
It even made our local tv news so it was all very exciting!

  18. Just something about a French country village that you never find any place else. The air, the smell of baking, the atmosphere, the stones of the walls and buildings, the painted shutters.........the little parks and squares, and of course there's always Le Bar by the fountain!!

Lovely, brought back memories of my brother's village in the Languedoc.

    Happy weekend Shane dear.
