Summertime in Russell

We've just returned from another
few days away.
This time up north to
Russell in the Bay of Islands,
a beautiful part of New Zealand.
I've shown you photos before
as we always spend time up
here during summer.

A view of the bay at low tide
from the deck with
just a few seagulls mulling about.

We enjoyed some wonderful
sunsets while sitting on the deck
each evening.

I hope you are all happily settling
into the new year
and keeping snug and warm
if it's winter where you are!

Tomorrow I will share with you
our family's favorite chicken recipe!

  5. I can see why you head North each summer. A lovely spot in Russell indeed...very beautiful. Was it very hot while you were there? We had a 35 degrees here through that time which brings it's challenges when you're a gardener!!! Love, hugs & friendship for the New Year Shane...Catherine x0x0x

  6. Oh how beautiful, Shane. I pray I get to visit your country one day!

I have to tell you I saw a cute Austin Mini car at a gas station the other morning. I asked the man where he bought this yellow, steering wheel on the British side, car. He said, I bought it in North Carolina but it's originally from New Zealand. I sure can spot them, can't I???? Made me think of you. xo

  11. I enjoy seeing your photos of your trip. The place looks like a peaceful spot. Did you stay somewhere close to the beach? You mention 'the deck' so maybe that means you did. I love the first photo and the shades of blue and the sunset is stunning, too.
Happy weekend whatever you are doing!
