We've been invited to a
"Right Royal Wedding Dinner"

My friend decided months ago
to host a dinner party
on 29th April 2011!
Because we are in the
Southern Hemisphere
we are 11 hours
ahead of London.

Photo is of an english field maple to decorate the Abbey.

We are all contributing to
the food and wine
(a very Kiwi thing to do)
I'm doing roast vegetables.
We will have a
'Medley of Baby Vegetables'
such as
baby beets, turnips and carrots
plus
parsnips and potatoes!

(may be the coach carrying Prince William to the Abbey)

Our main course will be
Roast Beef with
Yorkshire Pudding and
all the trimmings.

Westminster Abbey)

It's too early for foody
photos as the big day
is tomorrow
however they will come
soon after the event!

Wishing you all a
Happy Royal Wedding day
and I hope you will
all join in a toast
to
Prince William and Kate
and wishing them
a very happy and long life
together!

Take care,
be kind to one another,
and love life
hugs

  2. What a lovely idea! I think quite a lot of English people are having parties, lunch, tea, street, to celebrate!

  3. That is a lovely idea and I will imagine you there, enjoying yourselves. Please take a few photos, Shane. I, for one, would love to see them.

How exciting this all is, another Royal Wedding in my lifetime. There will never be one like Lady Diana's wedding but that's okay.

  4. I think this will be better than Diana's wedding. I just hope the weather holds. We have been promised April showers.
They are a wonderful, modern young couple and all us Brits will be rooting for them.
    Love and hugs

  5. Oh yes, there will be a party here too! The men have been banished to a restaurant far from here and 6 of us 'girls' are having a bubbly lunch whilst glued to the TV. Our menu will be slightly different and I shall be sure to post shortly after.

  7. Wasn't it fabulous? I was up early, very early, and enjoyed every second and cup of coffee. I still had tears, making me realize how much a true Brit I still am even though I've been gone for such a long time! They are the perfect couple and Britain's Monarchy now has a better future I'm certain.

I'll be off across the pond on this day next week. Anxious to get home to see those dear to me, my old familiar haunts, and new sights in the Lake District with perhaps a day in Scotland!

Hope you had a great celebratory meal - sounds like a fun time.
    Hugs - Mary

  11. How fun is that! Far more elegant than my morning tea of scones (and at a far more suitable hour!).

Oh, it sounds terrific -- I hope you took photos that we'll see here!
