General Gallieni - a very dashing french man!!

There's something about
a French man -
n'est-ce pas?
Meet one of my favourites
"General Gallieni"
who is a wonderful tea rose!

Quite the most handsome
speciman
don't you agree?!!
I love the colours of
soft pink to
rosy pink to
buff yellow
through to deep red
I decided to photograph him
in the French corner
of my living room
close to my collection
of Eiffle Towers
so he felt at home!

Just one bloom on its own is stunning
and three blooms are
tres magnifique!
This wonderful rose
produces beautiful blooms
from Spring through to Autumn.

General Gallieni
is a tea rose
bred by Nabonnand
in 1899.
Named after the French General
Joseph Gallieni
who served in the Franco Prussion war
and World War 1.
He was later
Governor of Madagascar.

  5. Hi Shane, thanks for stopping my side of the world and for your kind thoughts. Those roses certainly are beautiful. It's not easy to grow and maintain things here but I do the best I can and always try to get things I know will survive. We talk about moving but I just couldn't live without a balcony and these days, people seem to care more about indoor living space than outdoor lounging space. I don't get that at all. Hope you have a great weekend. :) tammy

  14. Hi Shane!
I appreciate so much your gracious welcome to Blogville. You asked about by camera. It is just a point and shoot, purchased about 2 years ago; however is does have 10.1 megapixils.

  15. Hi Shane!

The gourds are actually plastic, but generally look realistic enough. That way I can get away with storing them. Wish I were smart enough to know how dry and preserve them. I looked at your "About Me' page at the blogs you follow and I'm there. It's "2805".

Christmas at the beach sounds great to me.

    Hugs, Honey

  25. Can I just say what a relief to find someone who actually knows what theyre talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe youre not more popular because you definitely have the gift.
