Mary Green's Gluebook Class

I've signed up for this class too! It starts on Sunday 16th May and looks like it will be a lot of fun.

Mr RLB thinks I'm addicted to my computer, as when we sit down to watch something on TV, I always say "I'm popping upstairs to the office to check my emails" - he wonders what this 'email thing' is, but he just woudn't "get it"!!

And I'm not even going to try and explain what blogging is and how I've made some lovely friends in blogland, his feet are firmly planted in reality on terra firma and computers are not part of his world!

You can just imagine the looks I get when we sit down in the evening and I'm cutting out images with a small pair of scissors - he thinks I've totally lost it and that I've gone back to my childhood!!!

Seriously, I have to admit I really enjoy cutting out images and creating beautiful pages. I find the process very therapeutic.

My idea for the books and journals I make is to give my granddaughters a record of the things I enjoy doing.
As we don't live in the same country it's my way of sharing the things I love with them.

Please check out Mary's website by clicking on the link at the bottom of this post and read about the class, it could be just what you're looking for too.

With the class Mary includes lots of downloads and step by step instructions on building these pages.
I'm completely new to arty things and need as much help as I can get.
I love it all but I'm not naturally creative, so for me it's a learning process.

I can't wait to begin!!

I'm going to be super busy as this is second class I've joined this month, but as I loved the sound of them both and simply couldn't choose between them - I decided I would have to do both!!!

Well, I hope you are enjoying cutting your papers with two journal classes all in one month!! There is something so calming about our type of journaling isn't there??

I had to laugh at your comments about your husband. It is a good thing we all have each other... those husbands just don't get it. :)

Thank you so much for all of your sweet comments on my blog... have a wonderful weekend!!

  4. I think there are very few husbands who get it. There certainly could be much worse things to occupy our times with. This whole blogging thing has been very inspiring for me. I've learned so much and met so many wonderful, creative and talented ladies. I've tried things I never would have thought of before. I'm such a homebody and this gives me an outlet. I have friends who are always out and about, in the malls, and that's just not me. Cutting and gluing is so therapeutic. Enjoy the process! Have a great evening! Your day finishes even before our's does! :) Tammy

  6. Thanks for your lovely comments at my blog Paris Parfait! Yes, I will keep blogging, once we move to Amsterdam. Sounds like you're going to have such fun creating journals and mementoes for your granddaughter. So easy to be inspired, with all the great ideas circulating in the blogosphere, isn't it? Hope you enjoy every minute! As for men grasping the blogging concept, it's not always easy! :) My husband finds it difficult keeping track of all the bloggers I meet in Paris. Whenever someone's in town, he'll say, "now who is that again?" as he gets them all confused. :)

  7. Cutting is EXTREMELY therapeutic! I love it! I've heard about the glue book on a couple of different blogs -- it looks like just my thing -- and easy to track the supplies! Very portable!

  8. Just be glad you're not sharing computer time.
I'm currently living with a 'virtual' farmer, hopefully he'll get bored soon. :)
    Have fun snipping !
